Jade Asian — Restaurant in Middletown Township

I will start off by saying the food here is very good. I’ve been coming here for a few years after a different Chinese restaurant left my boyfriend and I with stomach issues for over a week. Normally service is great, I get there and food is ready. The past two times have bee very different. After placing an order over the phone I was told it would 25-30 min for the food to be ready. Arrive at the restaurant 30 min later and food wasn’t ready. Was told it would be a few more minutes, okay no problem. Waited another 30+ minutes outside the restaurant when finally the order was ready. There were 5-6 other people who were waiting with the same issue. I understand that sometimes you are busy and orders get backed up. What I don’t understand is why you would continue to tell customers the wait will be 30 min when in reality it is going to be over an hour. I would much rather be told a more accurate time than have to wait an additional 30 min for the food, to me this is unacceptable. I will try ordering from here one more time to see if the experience is any different, if not I will have to find a new go-to place. I will update my review if the experience is better.

We have been going to Jade Asian for many years and it remains one of our favorite places for Chinese food. Most of the time we order takeout, but we have also dined in and every visit has been a great experience. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the people who work there are kind and welcoming. You can really feel that they care about their customers.

One of the things that makes Jade Asian special is how they are willing to go the extra mile. They even created a custom combination platter for us with peanuts, which has become one of our go to meals. It is rare to find a place that is so flexible and thoughtful about what their regular customers enjoy.

The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistent. Through all the challenges of the past few years, including the pandemic, their prices have remained fair and the quality has never dropped. That means a lot, and it is one of the reasons we keep coming back.

Strangest experience I had at a restaurant. From the moment we walked in, it was clear something was off. It was dead and we were told that we could be seated, but they only serve exclusively in to go containers with plastic forks and knives now. The service was painfully slow — we waited almost 30 minutes just for our drinks to arrive, and the food took even longer. The host is also the waiter but it was only my table and one other table with people in it. When it finally came, it was cold and completely tasteless. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken, and it was like chewing on rubber. The sushi was even worse because it would get completed and then sit there. We had tho ask the waiter twice to grab it. Then, we had enough and told him that we would pay for the food we already received but refused to pay for what was supposed to be ours that was just sitting at the sushi counter.
