I ordered over the phone and I HAVE to say the young lady needs to be trained more thoroughly and taught phone etiquette. She wasn't rude or anything let me say that also. When I arrived the staff was playing music that was very very inappropriate for a work atmosphere that EVERYONE who was in the store could hear, because it was very vulgar. I listen to some of the music don't get me wrong but I wouldn't blast it in my place of work especially since families with young children entered the establishment. Now as far as the food, it was pretty good the cook himself came out and personally handed it to me because he seen id been in there for a little bit waiting. It wasn't absurdly long especially for a popular place on a weekend night. The staff were polite in person. And again the food was decent, I paid with their tip a little over $70 for 4 sandwiches and a 2liter... Their large was BIG n it was definitely hearty n filling 2 of us shared it and had leftovers. My two kids got the cheese steak crunches n they were both hearty as well and a really good size for a medium. My pop got the grilled Italian small and his was also a great size and all the ingredients on everyone's looked 👌 👍 good. I would say to the owners to do something with the front where everyone sees and comes in... even stocking it with chips and displays would be helpful to the appearance. It does look unkept and I wouldn't say dirty but maybe outdated is a better word. I see what others meant, and I have lived in Middletown for 21 years n have been to this establishment quite a few times over the years. And will continue to support the business but felt like some positive encouragement and recommendations would help...
Read moreFirst of all, I ordered online using my married name (last name Torres) because I was in a rush on my lunch break. I ordered 2 French dips and a turkey sandwich for myself, my husband, and my sister. It took 40 minutes to get my food out, causing me to be 30 minutes late to work. I stood in the restaurant the entire time, talked to 3 workers about my order, and saw at least 4 different customers order their food in-store and receive their food within minutes. I work in a restaurant that makes sandwiches similar to one's I ordered, so I know it does not take that long to make them. When I finally did receive my order, it was only after I raised my voice and expressed that I had to go and requested a refund before storming off to my car to calm down and returned within 30 second and in that time, my order was finally done.
NOW ONTO MY FOOD. The 2 French dips that were supposedly not ready yet every time i asked about them were luke warm and soggy, clearly had been sitting for a while. The turkey sub had a long hair inside the wrapper and the lettuce was old, soggy, and browning. Read moreToday, 6/13/25, is Capriotti's 49th birthday. Too bad it's not a happy one for rewards member customers. I called to place an order and use the 4.90$ small sandwich reward for the "birthday." I was informed that Middletown Capriotti's is out of rolls. Nice so now I have a useless 4.90$ small sandwich reward I can't use. Good job Capriotti's. I just moved to Middletown and this was my first attempt at visiting. Talk about leaving a bad taste. It's probably my last.
Update, 7/7/25: 3 1/2 weeks ago I posted this review. The owner responded with an explanation, an apology, and an offer. She instructed me to send her an email and she would send me a gift card for a free sub. Well Penne, thank you for the offer. It looks good for you. It looks like you actually care. Unfortunately looks are deceiving. I sent that email and 3 1/2 weeks later there's nothing. I didn't receive an email. Just to be thorough before updating this I even logged into my Capriotti's account. There wasn't anything new in my inbox and there were no new additions to my rewards. I think 3 1/2 weeks is a fair enough amount of time to allow passing before updating the owner's fake offer. Sorry Penne, but 0 stars for Middletown Delaware...
