Los Machados Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Middletown

Tonight was a weird experience, our server was completely rude. When we usually come here the morning servers are always so nice and amazing, I don’t remember what the morning servers name was but she was amazing. I came tonight at 6:30-7:30 and the services was completely terrible. When I ordered a drink the server took a long time to look at my id and gave me a dirty look but accepted it. Then we ordered our food and she got one of our orders wrong due to a misunderstanding but when we asked to fix it she rolled her eyes and gave us another dirty look. We also ordered sour cream with our food and never got it and when I asked for it she rolled her eyes again and said ugh while walking away to get it. She never checked on us and only checked on us to give us the check. She only gave us good services when I paid and was leaving a tip, I didn’t want to leave a tip due to bad service but I still did but I only left 10% and when she saw my friends saw her give me one more dirty look before walking away. Nothing but good things to say about this place. They have good daily specials, a good atmosphere (music and decor) and the staff is extremely friendly. The menu is medium sized and has plenty of options from chicken, steak or fish as well as spicy and non-spicy options. The portions are just right for me. I clean my plate but I don't feel "stuffed" afterwards. Portions may be a bit small (just a bit) for people that can comfortably eat a lot. I think it's pretty close to your basic "restaurant sized" portion. I have been here on 5 different occasions and I have never had to wait, we always get seated immediately. Try to get a both though. They really try to make use of the space so there are a lot of tables and chairs in the middle of the restaurant. On one occasion, the back of my chair was right up against the back of another person's chair. There is still enough room to comfortably enjoy your food but it' was a bit tighter than I'm used to. We had heard some great things about this restaurant so my girlfriend and I were excited to try it out. I ordered beef tacos. The taco beef was bland. It didn't taste like they cooked it with ANY seasoning at all. It tasted like they just cooked the ground beef and put it in the taco shell. No salt or pepper and the meat was dry. The tacos only had lettuce and cheese on them. They didn't contain any tomatoes or anything else. They had no taste. It's sad when Taco Bell makes a better taco than a Mexican restaurant.

My girlfriend ordered a super taco or something. Hers came with things on it and rice. She had the same complaint about the ground beef and she said the rice was bland also.

When we expressed our concerns to the waiter, he acted like he didn't care one way or the other. Three service was slow also.

The one brought spot was the desert. We ordered the sopapias. It was very tasty. I don't think that w will ever go back...
