Edit: They switched something- the food or the cook- sometime in the last year. I now I haven't eaten there in months, because the time before last, I was sick as a dog, and last time I ended up spitting out some of my food and throwing away the rest because it was off and I didn't want to be ill again. I ordered the exact same dish that I always order. The only thing I would trust eating there now is the queso dip, which is admittedly very tasty.
I am not a fan of Hispanic food, and I absolutely love the food here. I think that having more authentic recipes really helps. And everything is always cooked to perfection. It is always busy, which is great for business, but sometimes means you can feel like it's a big crowded trying to wait for take out or find a spot to dine in. They could have used a building twice the size, and it probably would still be full. I didn't have much luck substituting or changing anything about the dish that I ordered. I think it could have been a language issue. But honestly, if you can, you should probably just get it how it's listed because it's amazing anyway. There was a seafood something that I ordered, and I wanted the queso instead of the Chipotle queso, and didn't get it. I also wasn't sure how tomatoes were going to taste with seafood and white sauce, but they weren't at all what I expected, and they absolutely made the dish what it was, so I am happy that I just went with it. I think it would help them greatly if they were able to extend the alcoholic drinks to the patio. I'm not sure what has been prohibitive for that, but I hope they can fix it soon. The employees are fun and professional. I haven't had any food there that wasn't good or that was just okay. The white queso sauce is freaking amazing! I feel like the price is just a tad high for big family dining. It might be nice to get some more kid meal or half-portion options to make it so that we can eat there more often. It's in line with some of the other pricing in town, and probably in line with other Mexican places nearby- I'm not sure that I've checked them since inflation. The plates are huge, and I can only usually eat half of my meal. I do take it home, but it's not as good reheated, so I think some smaller portion smaller price meals would be ideal.
Ooh! And lastly, the music in there is absolutely perfect! It is fun, upbeat Spanish music, and the perfect volume. You can hear it over all of the guests and all of the kitchen noise, but it is not intrusive and does not make it so that my date and I have to yell across the table at each other. It sounds like such a small thing, until you frequent restaurants where the music is non-existent or obnoxious. It was a notable part of the experience, and I...
Read moreI usually order lunch from here a couple times a month and the food is usually always great. But the customer service not so much. I always place a to go order, same thing every time; a burrito and 1 tamale on the side. Well they had made an error and charged me for 3 tamales when I only wanted the one. I asked them to fix this; that was an issue because the man was unsure how to run the register and after trying for 5 minutes he had to go get help. I was patient while waiting and didn’t mind. We’re human and mistakes happen. At this point I had been there almost 10 minutes and just wanted to pay for my food and go so I could enjoy the rest of my lunch. I handed him a $20 bill and told him to keep the change for this inconvenience and to have a good day. I literally had my hand on the bag and was ready to go when he grabs the bag from me. Then he takes it out of sight to remove the 2 tamales which takes another 3 minutes. At this point I didn’t even want my food. I don’t know what he has just done with my food besides removing the tamales. I could of upset him and he could of spit in it for all I know. I don’t know if he did it, had the kitchen do it. But he had just handled my money then was handling my food! I had already paid for it and he had no right to take the bag back from me. Don’t understand how it’s my fault they messed up ringing up my food? Truly the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Very unprofessional!! Are they going to reheat and reserve those other tamales to other customers?? Not a business I’m going to continue to support. Hope they do...
Read moreWe found El Jalisco in Mora about 2 years ago food was great and we were excited to get one in Milaca. We visited on many occasions and never had any complaints but the last few months it's been on a escalating decline. The waiter who takes the orders has such a negative attitude and a huge chip on his shoulders the food is not up to paar anymore. How can a beef quesadillia not have any cheese in it just greasy meat. No sauces for the burrito. Very disappointed. Mabey it's time for better management. I worked in the service industry for 40 years so I can understand that you can have a bad day. But if it is consistent mabey it's time to move on. Sorry I will not be back. If you hate your job that much make different life choices. Live is hard for 90% of rest of us as well so I don’t need to spent my hard earned money were I'm not even a little bit appreciatived. Your entitlement is not appreciated by...
