March 15, 2024 called to order pizza. Was placed on hold then disconnected. Tried calling back numerous times, line was busy. Drove to restaurant to place a pizza take-out order. Told front counter staff that I called, was placed on hold then call was disconnected. They apologized. I told them I tried calling back and kept getting a busy signal. They said that's there phone system. Not sure what was meant by that. I ordered four small pizzas (1 cheese pizza, 1 margherita, 1 white clam pizza and 1 mashed potato pizza). While waiting for the order, I watched the phones at their front counter. Lights were flashing on both phones. Nobody seemed to care to answer or pick up any of the open phone lines. When my food order came out, I was given three pizza boxes and a small aluminum container. I asked what was in the aluminum container and I was told it was meatballs. I told them I ordered four small pizzas. They checked and told me the order was put in was for 3 pizzas and an order of stuffed clams. I told them I ordered a white clam pizza, not stuffed clams. They asked if I still wanted the clam pizza. I said yes, that one was for my wife. They said they would put in the order. I asked what they would do to keep the other food warm while I waited for the clam pizza. They said they could not bring the food back into the kitchen. Needless to say it waited on the counter while they put in a rush order for a white clam pizza. Very quickly, they brought out a pizza box to me and apologized for the error. When I got home, I opened the pizza boxes and found instead of a white clam pizza, they gave me a sausage pizza. I returned to the restaurant with the sausage pizza to show them it was not a clam pizza. They said yes, the owner gave them the wrong pizza to give to me and they went back into the kitchen to get the white clam pizza. Meanwhile an elderly blonde female employee (hostess), looked at the sausage pizza, I brought back, which was now sitting on the counter. I explained the situation to her and in a rude manner she said to me, we can't take the pizza back, you can eat it or take outside and throw it out. I explained that I brought it with me to show that I received the wrong pizza. She again rudely repeated that I could eat it or take it outside and throw it out, but I had to take it with me when I left. They brought me out a white clam pizza and I left. Needless to say, all the food was cold by the time I got to eat any of it. The friends whose house I was brining the food to live close to the restaurant and told me they tried getting food from here in the past and always had trouble getting through on the phone or getting disconnected when they called. So, they go elsewhere for their pizza. It would appear there is a problem with the front end, order taking and management of the phone system. Very disappointing first impression at ordering pizza from this restaurant. Thankfully, there are many more pizza...
Read moreI was super stoked to eat here finally after hearing about the home made pasta. Food was amazing… unfortunately, service was the worst I’ve ever received in my life. Blonde young girl clearly didn’t want to be there or maybe just didn’t want to wait on us. From the beginning of our time of service, she was unpleasant and completely disinterested. I’ve been in the industry a long time, steps of service is something that wasn’t clearly taught. I had to ask her for another drink, after I saw she wasn’t coming to check up on how our food was when the appetizers came out. She didn’t bother to remove the dirty plates before the entrees hit the table. Didn’t care to ask us how our entrees were. She sent over another waitress to give us boxes. They didn’t ask if we were interested in dessert… I had to ask for a dessert menu. We ordered 2 desserts, all good until I found a hair in the cannoli cream. I get it, it happens; I didn’t even mention it, just put it aside. My friend was still eating as I was enjoying my cappuccino… the blonde puts the check on the table, doesn’t ask how everything was, nor if we needed or wanted anything else, just puts the check down and walks away without a peep. Comes back 3 minutes later to glance at the table to see if the check had a form of payment on it, nope it didn’t. She walks away, turns around to check again to which I finally said something, asked for the manager. It wasn’t even as though we came right before closing time… it was around 7:30pm, not busy at all. Cindy was sweet as pie and offered to make it right, nothing she could have done would have made the night right. I advised her that she needs to work on her staff and their steps of service. Super disappointing, wasn’t...
Read moreI've read through many of the reviews and 4.5 * got me in the door. Yes it is crowded, it's small. But after talking to some of the people waiting for tables and the manager, I knew why. And people are willing to wait to get a seat here. With anything this busy, I am sure mistakes can be made and times can be longer than expected. But according to the reviews, few and far between. They must do a huge take out business. The phone never stopped ringing and people picking up flowed in one after another.
Had dinner last night next to a table of 8 that drove 1.5 hrs to get there because it was their sons birthday and that is where he wanted to have his dinner. I overheard them talking to the manager and when she asked if it was as good as they remembered and worth the wait, the response was "better".
My dinner was as delicious as I expected, try the tortellini, and dessert was outstanding. Some other observations I had. The staff was friendly and smiling. The place was full and tables got filled as fast as they emptied. The female manager was visible at all times. Talking to customers, busing tables and delivering food. And my waitress was attentive and sweet.
Go hungry! The portions are huge. But take home leftovers, you will want to leave room for dessert.
I gave 4 stars for atmosphere because the lighting could be better and it could use a little face lift, but that definitely did not deter from a great meal.
All in all, a good experience. We will definitely be going back. Maybe on a Tuesday or...
