I want to start by saying we LOVE Polisenos! They have a huge variety of food, and their pizza is delicious.
There is one thing that I really feel needs addressed though - their cannolis. I’m going to reference a wonderful place in georgetown I recently went to for lunch. I ordered a cannoli for dessert and the cannoli filling was falling out the sides, there was SO much filling it was amazing. I figure that’s a way to make sure your customer leaves REALLY happy.
Now.. the one I got from Polisenos was the SADDEST around, which made me sad :( It was like they intently cleaned the sides up with a spatula or something after filling. And there was a big gap in the middle without filling at all. So the filling to shell ratio was way off. And if the ratio is going to be off, I’d much rather it be the other way around…more filling than shell! It literally feels like they’re intentionally being skimpy on the filling and when spending money, people don’t like to feel ripped off. It’s a good way to ensure they don’t come back.
I will go back, but I will think twice about ordering dessert :(
Also.. these pictures are from two different times there, so it wasn’t a fluke! I didn’t finger the filling at all before taking the picture, Al though I did take a bite out of the other side on the one before thinking to...

I ordered from this place on July 3rd, the food was good… fast forward to July 6th my mini wanted a repeat, we ordered pasta and I order the fish sandwich with fries. This order took place over the phone. I was asked what I wanted on the fish, I said whatever comes on it, the gentleman taking my order over the phone said oh you don’t want anything on it, I said you don’t put anything on the fish? I then said put cheese, tartar sauce and pickles on the fish. I asked for hot sauce on the side. The gentleman gave me my total and said my order would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived early, requested the pickles be put on the side as well, and then paid (I noticed the price changed. I was handed the receipt and saw I was charged $0.50 for each condiment that generally comes customary on a fish sandwich.
The food was good but I hate establishments that nickel and dime patrons without clearly stating the specifics.
*I was going to leave a stellar review for the place initially as the food was pretty good, after my visit on July 6th, my family and I will never dine here again when we are visiting in the area.
As far as the ambiance, it’s a “mom and pop” dinner set-up without the charisma, warmth and customer service of a “mom and pop”...
Read moreSmall hole in the wall pizza place with huge slices. Pizza was pretty good for the price. I came in around 1: 30pm on a Saturday and ordered pizza by the slice. Had to wait to order because there were so many phone orders. From what I can tell there are three staff for front of house and deliveries and two cooks. I ordered two slices without asking to see how big they were, and the guy ringing me up didn't offer any information or question whether I was sure I wanted two slices for myself (Dine-In). You could tell that they just threw some toppings on top of a pre-cooked cheese pizza and reheated it for pizza by the slice (which is okay but it would have been nice if they had something other than cheese that was pre-cooked and fresh considering it was still lunch time on a Saturday). The building itself is very mom and pop hole in the wall (small and dated). There were cleaning product bottles just sitting out on the floor in the restroom which would have been concerning if I had brought a young...
