A & D Pizza and Pub — Restaurant in Millbury

A & D Pizza has come a long way from years ago. The changes are very nice and the food has always been good and reasonably priced. Definitely a Millbury gem!

However my dinner with my wife on 6-3-21 about 5:15 pm was not a quiet one for the most part. We had a table in the bar section just steps away from the main dining room. Having not been here for quite awhile I was surprised at how much they expanded and the large amount of senior citizens that were sitting all around the bar.

My major annoyance was one of the patrons, sitting at the bar, was loud and became louder as he would attempt to strike up a conversation with someone on the other side of the bar. And sadly enough, the bartender would raise his voice also. At one point this patron really yelled out loud to gather someone's attention around the bar and every once in awhile, he would start to sing a tune then stop.

I am sure many other customers were annoyed by this loud individual but kept their comments to themselves. Myself, I fault the bartender for not addressing this individuals behavior. Maybe the bartender should have paid more attention to this individuals alcohol consumption, if this was a contributing factor to his extreme loudness. If it wasn't, the bartender should have politely asked the patron to tone it down some. Other than this matter, our meal was fine, and our waitress was excellent!

However, one word of advise, DO Not drink their water! There tap water is disgusting. I hope they do not use tap water for cooking or for doing dishes. I made this suggestion to a couple that was entering as we were leaving, and they said that they were aware of it as they live in Millbury. As the warning goes for Mexico, It applies to Millbury also. "Don't Drink the Water", ask for...

A + D is a staple of the town of millbury. A lot has changed over the years with the shopping mall and other local spots but A + D never ceases to deliver (take the pun, why not)

I’ve been all over the country trying different foods in different places but I still can’t find an American pizza place that beats these guys. Call it nostalgia if you like, but over 34 years I still keep stopping in here whenever I’m visiting.

Friendly service, great prices, and you won’t find better quality at the price point. Golden pizza and Papa Gino’s are the only competition but anyone that’s been to golden knows sometimes you’ll get a great pizza, sometimes you’ll get undercooked heartburn in a box. And Papa Gino’s has similar issues along with a limited menu.

A + D is one of the few things in life I’m happy to say hasn’t changed at all. I usually order and always recommend the calzones and mozzarella sticks. Keep up the good work guys, it doesn’t...

When I was asked what beer I would like from draft, I decided on the Sam Adams 76'......Sue the bartender put our down in front of me as we continue to chat I took a big sip as I started to swallow I felt a tingle in my mouth soon to a searing burn, I reached over the bar grabbed the first thing I could see to spit my "beer" in and then ran to bathroom to rinse my mouth of the burn and now a chemical taste that I can not describe. Upon coming back and after some heated conversation and beer inspection, It was told me to after the manager did some investigating that the company in charge of cleaning the beer tap lines DID NOT FLUSH THAT LINE and let the checmicals remain in the line!!!!
