The food was great. No complaints there. And the employees were kind to me as the customer. But when I was there, the manager (or owner?) and the employee were arguing the entire time. As a customer, I should not have to sit there while that happens. It doesn’t provide a good atmosphere. Have that conversation elsewhere.
Now since you invited me into the conversation, let me make some comments.
Manager…. You’re not a good manager.
Employee….
you should start interviewing elsewhere. You’re not going to get anything out of this job than an hourly paycheck and frustrating days. Go work for a place like Smiths or Chick-Fil-A. From a customers perspective, the managers are much nicer there. And go in with the intent on making a positive impression on everyone, not just to get a good paycheck. Your goal while you’re so young should be to make everyone enjoy working with you so that you have great referrals for your future jobs. I don’t think you’ll be leaving your current job with a good referral. To take it even further, ask your boss for feedback. Write both your positive and negative feedback (make sure you get both). Use the positive feedback in your next interview. Use the negative feedback to identify areas you can improve on. And when your next interviewer asks “what is your biggest weaknesses”, answer them with one of those, and tell them how you’ve been working on it.
You also have a responsibility not to argue in front of customers. And really, you shouldn’t argue with your boss like that at all. If you have concerns, have a conversation at an appropriate time, in an appropriate place, be productive about it, and don’t be so reactive. And do not try to use your disability as leverage. That will get you nowhere. Are you not capable? Or are you someone that is strong, capable, and has a growth mindset? What qualities will you be putting on your resume for your next job? How can you...
Today, I encountered a rather displeasing experience at Cupbop, a place I have long cherished and supported. On Ash Wednesday, I accidentally ordered 3 meals not suitable for the fasting day. Upon realizing my mistake, I attempted to cancel the order through the restaurant but was informed that I needed to go through DoorDash for cancellations. Due to personal reasons, I did not proceed with the cancellation through DoorDash and tried to contact the restaurant directly two more times, unfortunately without success.
When my husband went to pick up the food, the staff at Cupbop informed him that the order had been canceled without properly checking the details, resulting in our inability to receive our ordered meals. Later, the restaurant called back to say the food was ready, but due to the prior confusion, we missed out.
While I understand the pressures and busyness the restaurant faces, I believe there needs to be an improvement in customer service and communication. As a long-term customer who has always supported Cupbop, today's experience left me disappointed. I hope Cupbop will reconsider their service and communication strategies to ensure no one else has to undergo...
Read morePlaced an online order and showed up 10 minutes after the confirmed pickup time to make sure it would be ready. After a few minutes of no one acknowledging me I finally got one of the employee’s attention. There was one customer and three employees (one sitting in the back, hopefully on a break?) There was a pickup bag sitting on the counter that I thought for sure must be mine since I was the only one in there so I gave the employee my name and he checked the bag. It must not have been mine because he just walked away and didn’t come back. After about 30 minutes the place started to get busy and one employee served customers while the other stood at the back counter looking bored (the third was still in the back). Soon a line formed to the door and people were getting restless as no orders were getting completed. 8,9,10 bowls lined the counter. Finally another online order came in and asked if their order was ready. The employee checked the lone bag on the counter and asked “is it for Adam?” Turns out the bag of food in the counter was for me the whole time and I had waited 45 minutes for nothing. Get it together CupBop, won’t be back to this...
