I ordered slow roasted prime rib at the tune of $35 which is reasonable for the right size prime rib, but it does not list how many ounces. There are two cuts that you can get and I ordered the thicker cut, medium rare. I specifically asked is that going to come pink, which was confirmed to me. What came out was a little steak that was no more than 3/4 of an inch thick and dark brown. I cut into it and it was light brown throughout. I told the waitress who was very pleasant throughout the entire time. She is put into a position where she has people giving her food from the kitchen that don’t know what they’re doing and management that is misrepresenting on their menu how they are preparing food. She very kindly took it back to the kitchen. Talk to them and brought it back out and told me that they checked it with a temperature when they cooked it and confirmed it was 135° before they brought it out. Prime rib should be cooked 115 to 120° And then after it has time to rest will come up to 125 to 130°. She knew that was not what I ordered and asked if I would like it re-cooked and I absolutely said yes please. My wife could see them cooking it on a pan and flipping it back-and-forth not cutting it off of a slow roasted slab of meat. I asked for it rare if that last one was what was considered, medium rare. After watching them, jab it over and over and flip it back-and-forth they brought out an underwhelming prime rib that when I cut into the middle was the same temperature as my ice water. So after all of this and not getting a complete meal, they charge me $20 for my two sides and side salad, which is ridiculous. I came there for a meal and after two failed attempts I believe the right thing to do was comp my svegetables not charge me $20 for them after I sat there for 40 minutes trying to get the food I ordered which never came. Absolutely horrendous service and food. No Manager ever came out and said a word just charged me full price for $20 worth of vegetableseven though with a big prime rib it was 35. Absolutely...
Read moreThe food was less to average. And if you have any type of allergies, hopefully you'll have on you some Benadryl or Epiphany pen. They garnish your food with slices of fruit without knowing if the person has any type of allergies. As soon as I saw the fruit on my plate, that was not even on the menu of my order. I told them I couldn't eat my meal because it had slices of fruit on it and I was highly allergic to the fruit that was placed on my order. I had said those juices of the fruit seeped to my food and I need a new order and all they did was remove the fruit off my plate, They totally dismissing what I had said about being highly allergic to fruits. I travel quite a bit and I'm always eating at different restaurants and they never place any type of fruits, nuts or seafood on a order that is not on the menu you ordered not even as a garnish. Because they are very aware of people's allergies. When I left the restaurant on my way home I had a very bad Allergic reaction from the juices that had seeped into my food. A restaurant that dismisses what the customer ask and they're spending quite a bit of money will never get my business again. I check out all of the reviews and the ones that have a picture apparently they make a habit of putting a slice of orange in everyone's food regardless what they order. That's a Big No No!!!!Whatever happened with garnishing with parsley...
Read moreOur party of 4 had reservations for 12:30 today (Thanksgiving). We arrived around 12:20 and were promptly seated by a very kind hostess. She took our drink orders, delivered them and said our waitress would be with us soon. It was about 40 minutes into our visit when my husband sought out an employee to remind the powers that be that we existed in our cramped table in the corner by the window. Our waitress arrived shortly after and she was obviously being pulled a million different directions. She was very friendly and took our orders. When the food finally came out, it was fine, but nothing that made any of us wish to return... mediocre at best. At that point we were just glad to be eating. Every part of the visit took ENTIRELY too long and it was blaringly obvious that management/owners didn't prepare with enough staff and support to make a hectic day successful. I was tempted to ask to speak with a manager, but I didn't want to further stress our waitress who was not at fault. Also, I suspect we would have had a wait to speak to anyone with any authority anyway. I'm thankful for the kind hostess and waitress... but we won't be going to The Wooden...
