We went for lunch and it wasn’t busy at all. There were 3 to 4 other servers with one to two tables each, so no one was overwhelmed by any means. Our waitress asked what we wanted to drink, then literally disappeared. No clue where she’d went, so at least 10mins later we flagged down one of the other waitresses who earlier had asked us if we’d been helped yet. Finally got our sodas and placed our order. Appetizers came, waitress dropped the food off and dipped. Had to flag down another server for napkins and silverware. Our server never came back to check and see if we needed refills, or to ask how the food was. Waitress walked by, and as she was walking she asked if we were ready for the check - I began to ask for a takeout box but she literally just kept walking. If we had one of the other servers, I think our experience would have been much better. I watched as they waited their tables, and they made sure their customers were happy, had refills, and they didn’t go missing for long periods of time. Our server was working ONE other table besides us, saw her singing at the bar to the jukebox machine as we waited for her to return for service. I would recommend trying Spike’s, but hope that you get a good server. The burger we ordered was kid-sized, the chili looked, smelled and tasted like it was from a can. We took it home for the dog because we didn’t want to waste it. Fried pickles were good and was a good portion size, the cheese that came with the chips was great and had a...
Read moreThe food and service are great! Today though an older lady customer decided to call the police on my mom. We had our dog in the car with windows down so she was perfectly fine not hot. She was barking yes but has anxiety. There were others whom reached their arms into the car and they had absolutely no business whatsoever in doing that. The police officer spoke with my mom and she didn't get in any trouble. We don't understand why people just cannot seem to mind their own business. The cop had his time wasted which is unfortunate. And reaching inside a vehicle is against the law. My advice to the woman and others is stay away from other people's property and mind your own dang business plain and simple. It wasn't even hot outside neither. This woman had the nerve to tell people inside your establishment that our dog could've died. That is a lie. The windows were down and the dog was just fine. I hate to think of how many more times this will happen to others who eat there and maybe have their dogs. It's really quite ignorant of people who obviously have nothing better to do with themselves than call police...
Read moreMy friend and I went to Spikes for a late lunch. A perky employee gave us menus and chose a table for us. Then she disappeared. We waited to give our order but no one came back to the table. I went into the bar area and there were 3 employees talking at the far end of the bar. I asked if we could order. Yes, the perky one came and took our order. The food -- one burger and fries and one sliced meat and fries arrived as requested. The food was good but now a man played the jukebox and the sound was deafening. I could not hear my friend who was sitting one foot away next to me at a big round table. After a few songs, a patron at another table went to the bar area and asked for the music to be turned down. We finished eating. Again, I had to go to the bar area and ask for the bill from the same three employees at the bar. We got our credit card ready -- and no one came. We took it back to the bar area, again. We thought the food was good enough to return but we did not enjoy the lack of service or ambiance. We would probably...
