These people are criminals! Back in February 2024, I had bought $500 in gift cards as this was one our favorite places to order from. The food was so good and service was great!
There was no mention at all of the place being sold until it was sold. Around March (not positive on date) I believe there was a Facebook post that the place had been sold to employees that worked there. Went a few times and noticed the food went downhill and used some of my gift cards. Went last month (November) and used part of my gift card and received a paper certificate for what was left on the card. Was only going to use up the gift cards. However, the food went so downhill, I just couldn’t eat it several times a week or month.
Today, I placed an order for pick up and when I went to the counter there was a sign saying that as of September 5, I believe it said, that gift cards are void. Say what? I still have almost $200 in gift cards and you’re saying you are not accepting them?
What appeared to be the manager or owner, not sure would not accept the gift card for my order. Stating that the business was sold and they put the sign up letting people know they were not accepting the gift cards after September. Funny right, because they accepted it last month. This was mind you, in the take out area of the business. I have not been in the take out area of the business since I bought these gift cards back in February. Not on the windows outside, not on the doors, not on social media pages and not in the local newspaper. This is a resort town that people don’t live here year round. They put a sign inside the to go area to let people know!?!? WOW!
So I asked why it wasn’t publicized on their Facebook page or anywhere else as not everyone goes inside here. You have to notify people better than this. No response just said the sign was there.
First I was told the business was sold in early 2024 then she said in May. So which is it?
So, $80 worth of food was left there because I was not giving these crooks any more money of mine.
Al should have NEVER been selling gift cards if he was planning on selling the business. Don’t even try and say you didn’t know because businesses are not decided to sell overnight unless the person dies and even then it’s not overnight and Al is still alive! The business was sold to employees that worked there, so they knew gift cards were still being sold. They knew people had these cards and they decided they were going to screw them by placing a sign inside the to go area that cards would be voided in September. Let’s not put it on the Facebook page because that’s where people will see it. Let’s not mention it to the local newspaper because people read that. CRIMINALS!
This also explains why the food has gone so down hill in the past year. Skimpy sandwiches. Nothing like they are photographed on their social media pages. Quality just isn’t there anymore. The nice customer service isn’t either.
Beware! New owners are horrible and scammers! So now they are selling certificates that prob will be “voided” come February 2025! Make sure you stop in daily to see if there is a sign stating that the certificates will be voided soon for those gift certificates that many are purchasing for the holidays. Just horrible! What a sin for a business to do to local...
Read moreSaturday, July 20th was a bad day to place an order here. It was way too busy! An order by phone was placed by my brother, 10 subs (hot/cold) and I was the pickup person. He was told to give it about 35 minutes for the order and he was also told he couldn't pay by phone. Seems odd, most food businesses take payment over the phone.
I arrived and went in on the pickup side at about 5:50 pm and waited and waited..........I watched people who had come in AFTER me, place orders at the register, get their food, pay and leave. I understand the order I was waiting for had 10 subs, but they should have been made in the order the order was received. ----That didn't happen. Eventually after waiting well over the quoted time of 35 minutes, I finally was given the food, the 3 hot sandwiches had saturated the brown bag they were in so that it ripped when I went to walk away from the counter. A courteous customer who was sitting on the bench waiting, picked them up for me, and I got another bag. The 2nd bag had 7 subs, which was quite heavy.
It was just a zoo inside there that day, it was a high heat day outside and I think many people had the same idea to not cook at home.
The other thing that annoyed me was when I paid for the order upon my arrival, I asked how the order would be called out when ready. I was told by the "name" when the order was placed. It was called by "#", a three digit #.
This location needs some organization and customer service training. I understand things get busy, but no one really wanted to even answer my question when I asked about the order. I really felt like a bother.
I need some "cool-off" time before wanting to go...
Read moreI regularly visit this place, the food is good, the prices are reasonable. Today I stopped in for lunch, ordered my usual lunch, A birch beer and large Italian "everything on it, no pickles.". Every single time for years, that has been my order. I'm assuming the woman making subs was being trained because a familiar face was direction her. Got in my car, heading to my next job and realized there was no mayo, tomato, oil or vinegar. No worries, I'm hungry and I don't have the time to turn back.
I called the shop to let them know about the situation so they could correct it for the sake of everyone else. Got put on a brief hold, Ashley answers and I tell her what the problem was. She then explains that you have to specify when you ask for "everything". I asked if "everything" includes tomato's to which she responds yes but not mayo or vinegar, just oil. I'm a regular, I order there all the time and I always get the same thing. She doubles down on the idea that I didn't order correctly.
Some how I knew to say no pickles but didn't know I needed to specify that I wanted tomato, oil & vinegar, and mayo... perhaps this is a new because of the change of management and maybe "everything" for an Italian sub only means [lettuce, onion, and peppers]. I'll take my business...
