I have gone twice and here is my experience. I was disappointed to know that their "biggest" and most expensive burrito, the express burrito, was nearly $10 with only beans, cheese, rice, and meat. That's ridiculous. It didn't even have vegetables and it was already expensive. The burrito was almost as long as my forearm but it was thin due to lack of filling. I was disappointed the first time I went because of that. I didn't even get chips. I got the new cashier who wasn't fully trained and he didn't offer me any chips. The boss even told him to give me chips but he didn't. That was a let down. I spoke to the boss to give him some feedback and he told me that you have to ask for the add ons on the burritos. He said that they are "customizable". I would've liked to know that before I got my burrito though. It seemed to me like you can get that for free but I was wrong. I went the next day to give it a second chance and this time, the boss was handling the cash register and he took my order. I found out that you have to pay for extra fillings like guacamole, lettuce and tomato. What?! The burrito is already expensive and you want me to pay even more for things which their premium burrito should have? Forget that. I instead ordered the chimichanga combo. I got chips this time. I tried their "hottest" salsa but it wasn't spicy. The food came quick and this time it came with everything. The chimichanga had sour cream, lettuce, and guacamole on top. It also had beans and rice on the side. It even had more beans and the meat of choice inside. I got chicken and it was fresh. The food was great. It was around $9 but it was worth it. This time I got what I paid for. I rate it 3 stars because there are some plates they have which may satisfy you more than their burritos (for what they're worth), but their burritos just don't measure up. You may feel ripped off if you buy one. Keep in mind I come from Watsonville where the Burritos are $6-8 and you will get what you pay for. I usually get burritos over here that are the size of my forearm (no joke) and they are hefty as heck but they are only $6. Anyways, if you come here then come for other food but unless you have the money to spend, ask for the fanciest burrito ever and tell them to make it for you since it is advertised as a...
Read moreIf you’re ever in Milpitas and craving a burrito that perfectly balances bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and a satisfying size, Burrito Express is your go-to spot. This place has truly mastered the art of the burrito, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment you step into the cozy yet bustling eatery, you can feel the authenticity. The menu offers a wide range of options, but I went for the classic Carne Asada Burrito, and it did not disappoint. The Tortilla: Soft, warm, and perfectly pliable, the tortilla was the ideal canvas for the filling. It wasn’t too thick or too thin—just the right amount of chewiness to hold everything together without falling apart. The Carne Asada: The carne asada was tender, juicy, and grilled to perfection. The seasoning was spot-on—smoky, savory, with a slight char that gave it a deliciously satisfying crunch in every bite. There was just enough marinated flavor to complement, not overpower, the other ingredients. The Rice & Beans: The rice was fluffy and lightly seasoned, absorbing the delicious juices from the carne asada without being overly sticky. The pinto beans were creamy and well-seasoned, adding a rich, earthy base that balanced the flavors. Neither component was overly heavy, which allowed the other ingredients to shine. The Fresh Salsa: The salsa had a perfect kick! Not too spicy, but with a nice tangy heat that complemented the meat. The pico de gallo was also fresh—crisp, with chopped tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and a little lime—adding brightness to the whole burrito. The Guacamole: A dollop of freshly made guacamole made all the difference. It was creamy, with just the right amount of lime and seasoning, adding that necessary richness to balance the smoky meat and tangy salsa. Overall: The burrito was generously filled, and the combination of textures and flavors was flawless. Every bite felt like a celebration of Mexican cuisine. The proportions were just right—not overwhelming, but enough to fill you up without making you feel sluggish afterward. If you’re looking for a no-nonsense, high-quality burrito in Milpitas, Burrito Express should be at the top of your list. The quality of ingredients, expertly crafted flavors, and unbeatable taste will have you coming back for more. Five stars...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious Mexican place which is authentic and affordable. Their portion sizes are generous and the best part is that 3 meats are halal - Chicken, Steak and beef. The owner is really friendly and the place was clean. Service was quick and efficient.
Really liked the steak chimichanga which was a bunch of beans, meat, fresh tomato, lettuce, sour cream, shredded cheese and sauce wrapped in a crispy dough wrap. You can order it with rice and beans or fries - they are very accommodating and are willing to adjust according to your taste. We also liked the chicken burrito which had cheese and fries and a sauce in it, a bit milder but you can get hot sauce on the side if you want. They have Mexican coke which goes very well with the food.
I can tell this is a local favourite - the number of people trickling in and asking for their usual seemed to demonstrate that the food is good and the place has been around for a bit. Wishing them the very best and hope their business...
