China Rose — Restaurant in Milpitas

I would give zero star if that was possible.

Normally, I do not post on experiences at any particular restaurant. Today was an exception. What a HORRIBLE customer service experience. I place my order through Beyond Menu for China Rose tonight at 5:14 PM. I got to the restaurant at 5:45 PM. When I got to the counter and let the guy know I was here to pick up my order, showed him on my phone. He went looking around and then told me it wasn't ready. I asked him why not because it was ordered half hour ago. He mumbles something and heads to the kitchen. No apology or explanation. So I am standing there, it is now 6 PM and I asked the lady how much longer and she says something I can't understand. So I am still waiting, now 6:15 PM, ask the lady if there was a manager, and I would like to speak to one. She looks at me and goes in the kitchen. No manager ever shows up. Finally around 6:30 PM, the first guy comes out with the order, and I asked him why it took so long, and he said something I couldn't understand. I was fed up at that point, took the order and just left. Still no explanation or apology for the piss poor service. There were other patrons that was getting fed up with the inattentive staff as I was.

Needless to say, I will not be returning to that restaurant nor would I...

Unique fried rice dishes like "Pineapple and Prawn" and "Fuji Style Mixed Seafood Fried Rice". The food was decent, but a long wait time when ordering to go.

Food: They have unique fried rice dishes that other restaurants in the bay usually charge more for or don't have such as "Dry Scallop Egg White FR." Dishes are around 11$ to 12$ (03/31).

Service: I ordered to go, but waited an extra 10 minutes after the expected time. Waiting is fine, but I didn't get any ETA on the next time and there wasn't anyone managing the front causing a lot of confusion. Could just be short staffed that day.

Nice FR dishes. Could work on turnaround time/communication. I'll come back...

This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in the South Bay! Our family has been going for years, and their food and prices are nothing short of incredible. The quality of their food is very authentically Cantanese. Would very highly recommend the cod with tofu clay pot, red wine beef, and coffee ribs. Because they are tucked away in a nondescript strip mall in a very residential part of Milpitas, there is never a long wait which is the other plus - if you are hungry and want to get a quick bite but not sacrifice quality, this is definitely a place to check out.
