Over priced and under performed in every imaginable way.
This place markets itself as a Japanese steakhouse. I should have known something was wrong when they had LED lights in the storefront (like a cheap sushi bar), classical piano music playing in the background, and a televangelist playing on the TV. Tile going all up the walls. Cheap Chinese lanterns adorned near the cooking station. The seating was cramped at best and the benches so low that my knees were aching by the time my meal was over.
The hibachi is nothing more than poor quality Chinese takeout without a show. My scallops were so salty and burned they were practically inedible. The steak was lackluster. The fried rice was nothing more than colored, badly broken white rice with a chunk or two of egg. It was all garbage!
The sushi was just as abysmal...nothing more than cheap buffet sushi executed poorly. We had split checks and separate orders with my party. The cooks cramed everything on combined platters. The poor waitress had to pull a menu, and our tickets, to try to make sense out of who was supposed to get what.
Over 70% of the meal was cheap rice. When I say cheap, it was broken rice at that...so cheap! Figuring out everything, they're making almost $8 per ounce on cooked rice alone! The least they could do is use real sushi rice (properly cooked and seasoned) for their sub-par sushi, and use unbroken rice for their low quality fried rice. If they actually put in some effort, I'm sure they could rise up to a suitable cheap Chinese takeout level of quality with a vegetable morsel or two in the fried rice..
I would say that I'd give them a year to sort things out, but I really don't expect them to last that long. So sad. I had high hopes...

Unfortunately, despite only taking a couple horrid bites, they regretfully couldn't remove that from our ticket. We spent $65 and left the nice young man a 20% tip. I won't be back. Huge change from my original review: What a pleasant surprise! I was a little skeptical until I opened the front door. There was what seemed like the aroma of lemon grass in the air. The entire place had clean, dust free new decor, the tables and chairs were all new. Lighting was just right. Soft music accompanied the pleasant atmosphere placing me in a relaxed state of mind. The food was all spot on. Freshness, quality, temperature…there was nothing I could find a flaw in. Our waitress was friendly and helped by answering a couple of questions. Price point was below what I expected for high quality food and slightly large portions. I’ll be a regular here for sure! I recommend trying their lunch...
Read moreThis WAS my favorite restaurant in Milton.... Until last Saturday night. My husband and I were seated at a dirty table. When we told the server, he quickly wiped the middle of the table with dry napkins... so we got up and sat at another table. After my husband found 3 hairs in his chicken fried rice, the waiter said the hairs didn't look like any of the cook's hair.... Followed by the cook loudly saying he wasn't remaking it and was yelling at the waiter... unbelievable. Then the waiter brings dessert out and tells us the cook didn't want to remake the food but the waiter "gave him a stern talk" and he's remaking it.... We didn't want dessert first any more than we wanted a dirty table or a rude cook or hair in the food, or a million excuses..... An apology would have been nice. We were told there was no manager there who we could talk to about any of this. I worked in a restaurant for 5 years. I know what a quality dining experience should be and tonight was bad enough that we will never...
