While staying in Milwaukee for the weekend my girlfriend wanted to stop at at random after seeing pictures online of their boozy shakes so we decided to visit during later hours around 1:30 and we're happy to see they stay open as late as other bars but were also disappointed because the patio that we looked forward to sitting on was closed at that time so we had to sit inside but glad we did because the whole Ambiance of the place just has a feeling that takes you back in time it's very dark with a red lighting all around giving it a very cool vibe. At random offers a very large variety of specialty shakes with a menu multiple pages long full of delicious options and we decided to go with one of the many varieties of pina coladas they offer I can't remember specifically which one but it was very good and appealing to the eye and I was especially happy to see that they offer a dairy free ice cream because I'm usually not able to have alcohol shakes being lactose intolerant so I was very grateful that they cater to those with dairy allergies and it did not take away from the experience at all because this was the best pina colada I've had and I've had a lot. The service that night was great and our waitress was very friendly so we decided to come back the next night at a earlier time to enjoy their patio and while somewhat small they managed to do a lot with the space they have a few covered Dome like tents for you to sit in which seats around six people each they have games to play but the big downside to enjoying their patio is that you get nowhere near the full selection offered inside the bar which was the biggest disappointment because with the very large menu that they have you can only choose from a few of their drinks if you are outside and that sucks because the weather was great that night and all we wanted to do was try two specific drinks we were looking at from the night before and were not able to have them unless we drank indoors which took away from the whole reason we even came back in the first place and ended up getting a cookies and cream shake which was good but not what we wanted or came for so I would like to see them change this and offer their full menu to customers in the patio section but aside from that we both had an overall great experience and I would recommend them to anybody in the mood for something sweet and intoxicating.

At Random is eccentricity at its best and a must if you ever long for the nostalgia of the 60s and the classic ice cream and tiki drinks that accompany those bygone days! I loved everything about this bar, from the old electric fireplaces that adorn the walls and take me right back to my Grandfather's basement bar from my childhood in Wisconsin to the formica bar top and carpet covered bar sides! The red lighting takes it to a whole new level, and the knowledgeable, friendly, and humorous bar staff keep it light and entertaining. The Love Bowl is great for couples, but mind the "it doesn't taste like alcohol-ness" of the drink... it'll sneak up on you! Known for their ice cream drinks, I wouldn't pass up a chance to try the Grasshopper or Pink Squirrel! If you get a chance, chat up your bartender about the history of At Ramdom or the sculpture in the back room, and you will certainly be told some great stories! This place can get busy very quickly, and they don't take reservations, so we recommend getting here early to grab a seat at the bar!

Absolute Milwaukee haunt. It’s a classic. Not only will you be living Milwaukee history coming to one of the oldest cocktail bars in the city, but you’ll also feel like you’re living in a Quentin Tarantino film. Drinks: damn good. Fair priced. Plenty go to cocktails for $10-$12. Bowl drinks to share. I’m a sucker for ice cream and those ice cream drinks don’t play. Cherry in New York was great. Atmosphere: Some of the coolest vibes in Milwaukee. You feel like you should be sucking down a cigarette among the dark lighting, mirrors, wood paneling, lamps, and leather seating. This is a prime date spot, place to stop and sort of pregame with friends, or to just experience Milwaukee cocktail bar culture. Service: The only wait staff that was working was an absolute sweetheart. They were super bubbly and fun. Just made me smile. Absolutely awesome while completely on top of providing solid service. They alone make me want to return! You need to stop here!

Ten out of ten would recommend. It has a calming atmosphere that is perfect for a chill night or date night. The oldies music is great for background music as you have a conversation with your significant other or coworker. This isn't the best place for a dozen guys to hang out at and take shots after a soccer game, but that's not really what they're going for. Definitely great for small group conversations. The bartenders are what differentiate this place from others. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. Especially one bartender in particular. I think her name was Danielly or Daniella. She was very welcoming, made delicious drinks, and made great recommendations all night long. We had some quick conversations in between her making drinks, and she seems like someone I would enjoy working with if given the chance. Overall, this is an outstanding place and should be visited at least once.

A Milwaukee staple. Not only are you getting an iconic Milwaukee experience but you are also enjoying an amazing drink while doing it! I took my wife here for her 33rd birthday and I ordered the Hot Buttered Rum, she ordered the Spike Hot Cider. Both we done to perfection and warmed the soul. At Random has been around for years and for good reason. You will find few places like it. Just go and check it out for yourself! As of this writing they have the place decorated for Christmas which adds to the ambiance. You can not go wrong with stopping in for a drink. They have warm drinks, classic cocktails and ice cream drinks. Something for everyone.

Decor is on point. The bar staff is very pleasant. I only gave four stars because their drinks leave something to be desired. There doesn’t seem to be any house made ingredients and they use a lot of sugary syrups and kinda cheap ingredient items. If you’re looking for a complex amazing cocktail this place won’t be that place. If you want a cute sugary drink in an awesome environment then this is your place. It’s def a cute place to bring a group of friends also since pretty big on the inside. It’s pretty much a vintage bar meets an ice cream shoppe, Not a place for a hardcore cocktail lover.
