Club Garibaldi — Restaurant in Milwaukee

My boyfriend and I stopped in here yesterday. We had never been for food and had heard the wings were phenomenal. We ordered 20 wings total. They are told to be “fried and then grilled to perfection”. However, when we received our wings, they were a little bit soggy. We couldn’t quite understand how you could fry and then grill something and the skin would be soft. Honestly, they had a great flavor, but the texture was hard to get past. The music they were playing was actually a little bit scary, some kind of rock, but had very interesting sound effects. The music actually made me feel kind of uncomfortable. Then last night both my boyfriend and I were having pretty bad stomach issues. As we thought about it more, the wings honestly seemed like they were microwaved. Maybe it was the time of day we went. Racist alert! I am a hijabi and I walked in with my husband, his friend and his friend's wife who is not a hijabi both of whom had been to this club before and swore that their wings were amazing, but on our way in the bartender only asked for my ID and the other female there not the mens. My friend's husband and wife both said that they never asked for that before. I didn't have my ID in hand but I had a picture of it and showed it to him but he still denied us our entrance saying that that doesn't work. I tried to be nice and prove that I am the same person in the picture but he wouldn't even smile back. It's unbelievable that people like him...

Oof. Really conflicted writing this review because I used to frequent club G's. I was recently back in the area with my 1 year old in tow and had a craving for their wings so my boyfriend and I thought it would be fun to stop in (at 5pm, nothing crazy). Nope. Met with a very condescending bartender. So much so that we actually thought he was joking at first when he said that we couldn't be in there with our son. I get it, club G is a bar first.. food second. But it was a Sunday at 5pm and the place was dead--there's no need to be a jerk. Sucks that one bad experience can ruin your whole perception of a place. Probably won't...
