This place was recommended by a friend. I cannot share in recommending this place. I agree with the person who said do not get the chicken tenders or boneless chicken. The chicken nuggets are indeed, huge. But being so huge they are difficult to eat like nuggets. They also have to be cooked longer, which can cause overcooking. Two were inedible - tough from being overcooked. The breading is thin and inconsistent - which wouldn't bother me EXCEPT the chicken was tough. . They were not crispy - not an issue if you can still eat them.
The wedges were super thick and breaded with a flavorless breading. The breading was crispy. But I don't want to shove a quarter of potato in my face with each bite.
My advice is to keep the portions the same, but instead double the amount provided at price points while halving the size of each peace. Each of my 6 nuggets would have been better as 12 half the size, with a shorter cook. And the 4 wedges would have been better as 6-8 thinner wedges.
Also, spice it up. The Hot Buffalo wasn't very hot and there was no spice on the wedges. The whole operation made me miss Chester's Chicken...
Read moreI got the 6 piece chicken bucket with potato wedges + the pizza puff. These were the MOST unseasoned pieces of meat I’ve ever eaten. I’m actually disgusted. It’s just boiled chicken with breaded coating, no flavor. Even the tiny drumstick they put in my order wasn’t seasoned, you’d think the smaller the meat the more there’s seasoning…WRONG, there’s no seasoning at all. Would’ve been better off getting fried chicken from pick and save or Sentry. Maybe it’s cuz I’m from the east coast and know good food, but Lord, it’s never been this bad to where I can say grocery stores have better fried chicken. Additionally, why is it only 5 wedges? Had I known the side of wedges would only be 5 measly pieces I would’ve gotten fries. Better yet had I known how bland, squishy, and inedible the chicken was going to be I wouldn’t have ordered at all. Money wasted. People in these reviews have to be lying because this place should gave 2 stars at the most. The only good thing is the sauce they have on the side. The pizza puff was also just not good, made me feel sick...
Read moreI'm from Chicago, and this place is about as close to Chicago-style chicken wings with the mild sauce & lemon pepper that you're going to find in Milwaukee. The only thing missing is the slice of white bread. They make everything fresh to order, so if you're in a rush, then call ahead of time or place an order online. My go-to is the 3 pc whole wing dinner with fries & a piece of catfish on the side. My kids split the appetizer plate with mozzarella sticks, poppers, & fried mushrooms, and everything was tasty, crisp, & fresh. The prices are super reasonable as well. The guy at the counter was great, and super helpful. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, but what do you expect from a gas station chicken shack? It's clean, and they have bathrooms. The gas at the station was super cheap compared to Chicago prices, so we made sure to fill up before hitting the road. This is a spot I'm happy to stop at when I'm in the...
