La Canoa — Restaurant in Milwaukee

We went for dinner on a Saturday night. Our server brought us three salsas and two seafood empanadas right away. (Free!) One of the salsas had avocado in it so the night was off to a great start! We ordered the quesadilla con rajas and some peppers wrapped in bacon that my boyfriend ordered with a large horchata. The horchata was great and cheap! The food was either good or great, no complaints about the quantity, quality, or prices. There are some super cheap meals that start at $7 and some higher end meals at $20+.

The service was great. Servers are a little shy but nice and friendly.

The restaurant has a beautiful mural that stretches across all of the walls. The chairs are wonderfully painted and carved. And the bar is inside of a boat!

If you are in Milwaukee looking for good Mexican food don't waste your time at Bel Air or other Americanized places. Go to the south side and try some real...

This was the worst experience ever at La Canoa in Milwaukee. Maggie was our waitress who seemed to have dementia! The tortillas were brought 20 min after the food was served and they were cold, despite us reminding Maggie that we were waiting on the tortillas. The hot sauce was also served when we were almost done with the meal. One plate was never served and when I told Maggie that I no longer wanted the food (20 min after everyone else got their food) she became defensive and had the audacity to tell me why I didn’t tell her sooner. The bill was incorrect and they wanted to charge me for someone else’s drink. The customer service here is horrible and they did not once acknowledge...

The Worst Latin/Seafood Experience I've Ever Had In My Food Hunting Days. The Waitress We Were Assigned Kept Giving Uncomfortable Vibes. When Mentioning My Limeade Had Red Pieces In It The Waitress Poured Out Half My Glass and Had The Audacity To Bring It Back Half Full With Red Fragments Still In It.
