I had never been to Milwaukee before, but was visiting for business and found this place through a recommendation from the bartender at the rooftop bar in my downtown hotel. After noticing my preference for good tequila, he suggested I check out La Piña. I finally had some time the next day to stop in—and I’m so glad I did.
The bartender was incredibly knowledgeable about their impressive selection of additive-free tequilas. In fact, every tequila they serve is additive-free, which is rare and refreshing to see. I spent some time sampling different options, chatting with a friend and eventually the owner, and I was genuinely inspired by the owner’s passion for high-quality tequila and creating a top-tier customer experience.
It’s not often you find a place so committed to both product quality and hospitality. If you're even remotely curious about tequila—or if you consider yourself a connoisseur—La Piña is a must-visit in Milwaukee. I’m especially partial to añejos, and every single one I tried here blew away anything I’ve had before in both flavor and complexity.
This place is a true gem. I can’t...
Read moreThe beer/tequila deal is unbeatable. My spicy margarita was sooo good. The service was good too. A few things: 1) they should take the “your first drink is on us” ad off their menu, because it no longer is applicable. 2) I love the concept of this place and was so excited to check it out. I’d like to see it be a bit more vibey. Maybe some flexible seating (eg couches, cute chairs?) in the back. The front section is cute with the bar looking classy (minus the bar wall carpet and bar stools). Right now it smells a little like smoke and it’s decorated with old wood dining tables, but they don’t have food. It feels like they kept the tables and chairs from the (dive bar?) this building previously was. The wall art is so cute, but the overall vibe didn’t match this. I feel like they could really make this place cute, but right now it definitely wasn’t what I perceived...
Read moreNice and cozy little spot on the corner of 3rd. Staff were friendly and welcoming. They had a DJ when I arrived, I believe they have variety of musicians on different days. Definitely reminds me of a high scale tequila bar. I ordered a piña margarita, it wasn’t bad but it could’ve been better. I also came with a group of people who ordered a variety of drinks, the same response for the drinks. If the special drink was infused with chile or a special fruit it wasn’t very distinguished. I also think the cups should be filled a bit closer to the top considering I’m paying over $10 for the drink. I do however want to come back and try this place again during the week...
