Royal Street MKE — Restaurant in Milwaukee

I believe in patronizing black owned businesses but my experience on Friday night so terrible that I will never visit this establishment again. It took over 49 minutes for us to receive our food and when I complain to the server she said she would check on it which she did and I believe the manager came out and asked how everything was going after complaining to her about it she said oh well the ticket said that you know ordered at a certain time and it wasn’t 45 to an hour before we received the meal but it was. I myself own a restaurant and I know Customer satisfaction is what should be your number one concern. After explaining to the manager how disappointed I was she just smiled like oh well. Not only that we were charged 18% gratuity Which I feel is totally inappropriate I want to give a tip I feel is deserved. The waitress was nice but she didn’t deserve a 18% gratuity maybe 15% but let me decided. The artichoke dip was not the same and chips were stale and it was cold, the wings were delicious but the flatbread was not. I use it get a buzz from the samples but the drinks are not as strong as they use to be. I brought my sister from out of town dragging on this place and I spent over $150 and felt so disappointed and taking advantage of and I will never come back. Was my very first time at this establishment. My Fiancé and I met with some friends for dinner. As soon as we walked through the door, the staff was welcoming which I loved. The food and daiquiris were awesome. The staff was awesome. Theres street parking and Small parking lot, but I'll take that over paying for parking. One issue we had was that the soap dispenser in the women's bathroom was malfunctioning. Second issue we had was that our food came out at all different times which was a little disappointing. It would have been nice if everyone's food came out all at once since we all ordered at the same time. Minus those two issues, I would most definitely suggest this place and visit again. I have never gone to a restaurant where you are charged gratuity for take-out. Grant it, I understand if you eat-in but considering there is no phone number, my wife and I went in to place an order. We figured we would get a drink while we waited. When I got the bill I was charged approximately $14 additional for gratuity. I asked the bartender/waitress why I was being charged gratuity and she stated that gratuity is added to all orders (dine-in and take-out). I do try to support black businesses but I can't go anywhere that takes advantage of their customers. Furthermore, I have never in life heard of being charged gratuity for take-out.
