Seated at 12:30pm on a Friday. Ordered appetizer of fried dill pickles; beyond greasy and tasted of catfish...obviously fried in same grease as their catfish. Ordered lunch, took over an HOUR before it was brought to table, and then that only happened after I asked another waitress (ours had disappeared, believe me, I looked for her for over 20 minutes!) to PLEASE check on our food. Food was cold. Only ate half of it. We had ordered their fried pies. Nothing. No one checking on us. By now, it's after 2pm. Friend goes to checkout, hoping to get help, and in 5 minutes waitress appears.Friend said yeah, she wanted to pay bill, but asked about our fried pies. Lady asked "Oh, are you ready for them now?" What??? No, how about we wait a THIRD hour for the dang fried pies!! And same waitress asked if she wanted to leave a tip! The fried pies were not like ANY I have every seen before. Looked like it was made with biscuit dough, not pie dough. Daughter-in-law said the processed fried pies you can buy in grocery stores in white packaging are better than these. No idea how this place is in business, with the service we experienced. Yall keep that catfish flavored fried crap! At least ACT like yall care. Never were we checked on. Sure, we were there during busy time. By the time we got our food, place had cleared out! East Texas Burger Co.,...
Read moreI had a chicken fried steak sandwich w/ cheese and sweet potato fries. My friend had the garlic cheese burger w/ waffle fries. Another friend had the small chicken fried steak dinner. Sweet potato and waffle fries were cooked to perfection. If that was the " small" chicken fried steak my friend had, I would love to see the large one ! Plates were beutiful. Our party of 10 showed up unannounced. The staff didn't bat an eye. We were promptly seated and service began right away. Staff are very professional and attentive. Everyone in our party were impressed with our experience. I'm just back in town after a 10 tear absence. Suprised to see the level of food quality and down home service is still top notch. They have a very impressive menu. I'm so looking forward to working my way thru it. Also keep on mind the establishment is located in downtown Mineola, Texas shopping district. The area close by the restaurant is a premier antique shopping paridise. It's close proximity to what we call "The country" means the selection of authentic pieces are second to none. Why bother with the higher markups of the big city. Better deals can be had out here in "the country." Our party dines out regularly at a rotating set of restaurants. I'm glad E.T. Burger Co. is in that group. Looking forward to...
Read moreFood is fantastic - Management needs vast improvement.
I have been eating here occasionally for decades and seen this regrettably deteriorate to the point I will never bring family and clients to dine here again.
Obviously management is not up to the task of training and coordinating wait staff. Management has a bad attitude and it is directly influencing the wait staff obviously.
I feel sorry for the chef's because they make fantastic food. However cold food delivered to the table means someone forgot your order. This place is severely understaffed and there seems to be a lack of delegation and coordination.
There are many other options in the surrounding area and it's sad to see such a historically fine place deteriorate into extinction just because of lacking management skills.
This review reflects our visits over the last 5 years and is not based on one bad visit. It's a review that is the culmination of a series of bad dining experiences and managements deteriorating lack of concern for fair and reasonable customer service.
No amount of good food can make up for the bad experience of hostile wait staff who will tell you anything just to get away from the table and forget about the quality of your...
