There comes a point where too much can hurt your business. We stopped into the Between Friends shop because of the words “coffee shop” on the front window. I’m not sure who taught them how to make coffee because it really tasted like Folgers with some foam on top. Too watered down, with little flavor. I watched her make the “espresso” which came from a jar marked medium roast. Which she proceeded to “brew” twice before pulling it out to pour into the cup. I stopped by in Mineola today to pick up some to-go food at a burger place and happened to see this shop. I happened to park right in front of this shop and after seeing through the front window, I decided to go inside and check it out. I'm so glad I did. This little place is like a hidden gem in Mineola in my opinion! So many unique antiques in fantastic shape and very reasonable prices. I loved this place and did not want to leave. Upon checking out, I spoke with the owner and one of her employees. The owner also makes and sells her own fudge, which I also purchased. Unfortunately it was false advertisement. They have an espresso sign out front and a basic espresso coffee menu offering. I ordered their Pumpkin Spice Latte. I watched the process and instead of using the espresso machine, the person microwaved some milk and ran a K-cup of coffee into a cup. Pulled the milk out of the microwave and poured it over the top.
