I stopped by here yesterday morning when going through Mineral Wells. We pulled up at 9:55. So I waited in the truck until 10:02. To be polite. As I approached the truck I was told, 15 more minutes. Disappointment #1. We werenât on a time schedule per se but we were in a rush or we would have sat down somewhere and ate. The employee who took my order was extremely friendly and everything. All smiles. All good. I randomly had cash. So I decided to use it. I was unaware that it is the only form of payment they accept until I came here now to read reviews and leave one. I was not informed of this nor did I see a sign of any sort. I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito. While it was delicious, it was extremely greasy. I had indigestion all day. Iâve eaten, hell I frequently eat some sketchy, spicy, greasy ass stuff and Iâve never experienced anything like that. The thing just continued to ooze more grease than the pictures show. Disappointment #2. Disappointment #3, the size of this thing. As you can see from it being in my hand and being next to the 2oz ramekins. So, I was confused about by total being $12. I bought Red Bull. So, $3 maybe $4. That is most definitely not a $8-9 burrito in my opinion. As far as atmosphere goes, someone had a saw or a grinder on the side of the truck and was just going at it. That doesnât make people want to sit down and eat there. It also doesnât make for a pleasant experience for the customers who are waiting on their order and may already be waiting 15 extra min for...
Read moreFinalmente! Finally! Authentic Mexican food. I sure do wish they had refried beans snd tacos de pescado but....oh well. It's authentic Mexican street food. I can't rave enough about their food. I want to try the whole menu, but I stick to the pollo burrito, pollo street tacos, or carne asada quesadilla because I literally crave them like nobody's business. The burrito, for example, has flavorful moist chicken meat, Pico de Gallo, and a good Mexican cheese which is mild and a perfect texture. Alongside it are grilled onions and jalapeno and some raw radish and lime, and two salsas. One is red, roasty and very spicy. The green is also spicy but a little more mild, creamy, with a hint of clove or something, very unique and pairs well with the chicken.
No cheddar cheese, queso dipping sauce, or ground beef here. Don't come here if you crave Tex-Mex.
Their hours/days vary and it is cash only. It is a taco trailer, but they have picnic tables.
I kind of want the pollo burrito right now. :) I recommend Los Cuñados for anyone with a hankering for authentic, flavorful...
