I stopped in here this morning and in a perfect world, I would've liked to try one of everything out of their bakery case because it all looked delicious. I did some research prior to coming here and they have so many things I wanted to try! I decided for the first visit, I would try their lemon poppyseed roll and one of their pretzel sticks. I was eyeing up their cardamom bread as well and it is something I will probably get next time I come here. This lemon poppyseed roll has to be one of the best baked goods I have tried all year. The bread was so soft and each bite was like biting into your fluffiest pillow if that was actually a thing. Someone put their heart and soul into baking this piece of art. The lemon flavor was perfect and I was having trouble comprehending how something could taste this good. I would highly recommend trying this if it's your first time here. I still haven't figured out what poppyseed tastes like after trying it in baked goods over the years but you'll love this no matter what. The pretzel was good too but my advice is you have to get this fresh and warm right out of the oven to properly enjoy it or take it home, bake it and eat it with some beer cheese or mustard. It was a little cold and while it was still soft with a nice chew to it, I would prefer to eat this warm or reheated with condiments in the future. The atmosphere was also stellar. This is a super laid back spot with a variety of different comfortable seating options. I could definitely see myself coming back with a book and enjoying more of their baked goods. They also have some savory items like a cheddar bacon chive roll and variations of these cheese and veggie tarts/pies which looked amazing. The staff were easy going and friendly as well. I was also able to pick both of these up for the low price of $7 so the prices are very reasonable too. I honestly can't wait to come back!

I have eaten Aki's's famous large pretzels for years and years in bars and taverns throughout Minneapolis and St. Paul. Yet, despite the original Aki's being located directly next to Fair State Brewing (I travel there often), I have never, ever seen Aki's actually OPEN for business! Obviously, they are open most every day, but "day" being the important word here - Aki's has never been open during the late nights when I frequent Fair State. I remember fondly that when Fair State opened, they built a small pass-through window directly into the Aki's bakery area - allowing for direct sales and delicious smells to waft through the brewery! Ah, those were the days, right? In any case, imagine my surprise when I walked by the Aki's on the way to FS to discover that the bakery is now occasionally open until 7 pm! Immediately, ordered myself a beer at FS, followed by a trip over to Aki's for a pretzel. Wonderful, as always. Served with several options for mustards, the store offers breads and brotchen, too. It's "no frills" inside, and very small in size, but happy to get a pretzel to eat with my Fair State beers! They were just closing when I arrived there, so most of their stock of breads were gone. But someday I'll catch them in the morning!

Walking through the door I was wrapped up in a wonderful smell and then my eyes saw the wonderful display of baked goods! I set my eyes on Crazy Raisin Bread and was almost concerned when the French gentleman in front of me bought a loaf and I thought it was the last!! I had it as toast last night and it was phenomenal 💜✝️💜 I then ordered the wonderful Vegan Potato Soup that even though it did not have the leeks the Chef wanted ……. It was delicious along with a wonderful sourdough roll - with Real Butter cubes - awesome 😎 Then finished my meal with a Nutella pastry that was delicious and not țoo sweet! Cannot wait to come back for the wine bar…….. Love the space and you have to sit in the fun chairs that allow you to really focus on your person in front of you!!!

Thank you for the wonderful service yesterday. The voice on the other end of the phone was so sweet and helpful when I called just before 11am and ordered 3 dozen sticks and 6 twists. By 1:30pm, I was picking them up.

I didn't explain this at the time, but you really saved the day! My daughter had to present about her trip to Germany as part of the Cultural Fair at her high school. This was part of her Capstone Project, a requirement for graduation.

She spent the night before trying to make her own pretzels. She's made them in the past, and they haven't been horrible, but that night, nothing was working. Of course, there were tears and frustration, and we were all up well past 11pm.

And so I called, out of the blue, and was taking your absolutely beautiful and delicious pretzels to her less than 3 hours later. She was so surprised, she was speechless. Your pretzels were the hit of the fair and your business card was proudly displayed for all to see.

She is looking forward to enjoying her pretzel with butter this morning, like she had every morning during her summer in Germany.

Thank you so much for saving the day and...
