Usually everything is great when we order from chengs. A couple times we requested 'spicy' but what was delivered was "sweet" chicken. When we called to notify the restaurant, they immediately fixed the issue and sent the correct order immediately which was great. Tonight tho was another story and i have no idea why....we did not recieve our order of cream cheese wantons which was clearly ordered and visible on the receipt. My boyfriend CALLED IMMEDIATELY to inform the store and to m ask for their delivery. However, the response given was that the store had already begun.shuttjng down for the evening.and there was nothing they would do. No offer of reinbursement , no apology , no promise of deliver next time we ordered..... all we were told was that nothing would be done because they were closing already for the evening. My boyfriend hung up with anger and frustration. I had tried calling back immediately to ask for reimbursement but they had already flipped their voicemail on for the night and just ignored my call. Yes its only five some dollars but thats not the point, its the way we were treated when we are faithful returning customers. Just because its about to be closing time doesnt mean that u should ignore your mistake and expect us to just deal with it. Im so very dissappinted and will be ordering elsewhere from now on. If your customers do not matter to you then dont be in the customer service industry. We ordered an hour before closing time, people make mistakes but a refund is not too...
Read moreFood has always been good but the customer service in person has gone down the drain. Drove there to place an order stood there for 5 mins with no line with no one acknowledging me. Ok no problem busy I get it. Then a woman makes eye contact with me and comes outside of the booth to grab something from the freezer and still no acknowledgement. There’s a woman sitting on a phone but she’s not taking orders. How do I know that you ask. Because I call the restaurant and place and order right then and there and she doesn’t answer the phone someone from the kitchen does. Alright my food is gonna be ready in 10 mins great because I’m starving. I let 15 mins pass before I enter the restaurant because hey it’s a Saturday night and I work in food service I get it. Get in there and I’m once again standing waiting to be acknowledged. At this point I’m upset. The customers who were dining in are now leaving it’s just me and the employees. I attempt to get their attention nothing. Finally by raising my voice and asking if I can have my food I see the woman who I made eye contact with earlier say something to the other cooks they are all still standing in the kitchen. Read moreI ordered delivery around 8:45pm on a Monday (when most other asian restaurants are closed). My order included orange Beef and an eggroll.
The delivery was quicker than quoted on the website order confirmation (25 min vs 50 min). The driver was courteous. He called so i could come met him outside the apartment building but i was outside before he had actually pulled up. The food was pretty meh. The egg roll was under cooked and offered a weird taste when I drank milk (i didnt finish it). The meat was a little over cooked and dehydrated making parts of it chewy and hard to swallow. The orange sause was tasty but not very spicy at all despite the menu claiming it was "hot".
Most significantly, as I was finishing the meal discovered I was chewing on remnants of a plastic bag among the meat. That just ruined my experience and made me question whether I had not already swallowed other pieces of plastic as the texture was pretty similar to previous bites.
Overall, I would not recommend if you have other options. I don't think I'll be able to bring myself to eat from Cheng's...
