We tried every restaurant in the newly opened Eat Street Social.
The bar has an astrology theme and the cocktails here were 10/10. All cocktails are diabetic friendly and can be made as zero proof mocktails!
Ramen Shoten: We tried the Red Phoenix Ramen and Chicken Gyoza. For me, the only good things about it were the presentation, the eggs were perfectly gummy inside, not over cooked, and the noodles were pretty good. This place was a 2/10 for me and possibly some of the most disappointing ramen I’ve had in the cities. Broth was meh, and there was waaaay too much sesame oil in it, and the chicken was just sliced chilled chicken breast. I was bored and wish the spice ball had more kick to it. The only broths they have are chicken or mushroom. I was most excited to try this spot and was also the most let down.
Ouro Pizza: We asked what thier most interesting pizza was and were told to try the Shrimp Portuguesa which has shrimp, hearts of palm, chopped egg, sliced onion, vinaigrette pico de gallo, white sauce, oregano and catupiry cheese. This was a 6/10 for me. The crust was good, the concept was interesting, but the hearts of palm really didn’t add much for me other than texture. Would like to see more on there for the flavor to come through. Overall this pie was lacking acidity and the flavors were all kind of mild and bland. the crust and the bake were great.
For a vegan option their Paulista (Vegan) Mashed potato, vegan cheese, corn, vinaigrette pico de gallo, topped with shoestring potato chips is a best seller. Patrona next to us really enjoyed theirs and I would come back to try this or another pizza here.
I will also be back to try the dessert pizza!
Sushi Dori: we tried two types of Sando and one roll.
Spamich Spam, Dashi Egg, Furikake, Kaiware Sprout, Pickled Cucumber, Kewpie, Sweet Soy 9/10
Lake Monster Unagi, Dashi Egg, Pickled Red Onion, Lettuce, Fried Garlic, Sweet Soy 9/10
Three Musketeers Roll Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Cucumber, Tobiko, Dill, Sweet Soy 8/10, a little heavy on cream cheese
I would recommend a sando here if you are looking for the best option to go or want to walk around.
Bebe Zito Burgers This one surprised me! I’m not a big burger fan but we tried the Bebe Zito burger with bacon and the Bebe fries. Overall I give them a 7/10. Solid burger but a little small for the price, great pickles. Bebe fries are good but not worth the $3 up charge for a little aioli and chopped pickles. Very messy to eat.
Bebe Zito Ice Cream Passion fruit Brûlée 8/10
Will definitely be back to try the chocolate gochuchang!
Chatime Tea Exactly what you would expect for any Chatime tea! Nice to have a bubble tea option around!
The space: cool vibes but a little small. She/They and He/They bathrooms which were very clean. Try to come outside of peak times for a better experience.
The cocktail bar is really the star of the place with very...
Read moreWe had an old friend in town who had moved from Minnesota and heard great reviews about the variety of food and atmosphere at Eat Street Crossing, and had to check it out! We all shared some of our meals between us, and I absolutely had to try them all 😝 My wife ordered the vegan Greenway roll from Sushi Dory, absolutely delicious! She and another friend ordered from Ramen Shoten and got the Shroom Bao, the Chicken / Veggie Gyoza, and they were perfect from the texture, taste & presentation. 3 of the members of our party ordered from Ouro Pizzaria and their unique Brazilian-style of Pizza, and I was able to taste a slice of the vegan Paulasta with its unique mashed potato "sauce" to the shoestring potato chip topping, the Brasilia with the melt in your mouth chicken, and the unique Pele with salami with the jalapeno-infused agave. Next time I return I definitely am getting one of those of my own! Finally it brings me to my very American choice of Bebe Zitos, where I ordered the fried pickles, which were a little too breaded for my liking, the cheddar tots (definitely my favorite item from here), and the Double Bebe with the side of their special sauce for dipping. I wasn't much of a fan of the patties with pork and the bottom bun got soggy too fast from the grease. Definitely would have rather had Culvers for the $40 I spent. We walked around afterwards to check out the lounge area upstairs (with the JBL speakers and wiring for a club-type atmosphere), with awesome views of the dining hall and their liquor store. Before we left, we stopped by Bebe Zitos for 3 pints to go, and was able to grab Strawberry Fields Forever, Chocolate Cake with Sprinkles, PB Pyppy Chow - we tried when we got home and the soft and creaminess was 🔥 Certainly a gem in the heart of Eat Street and will...
Read moreI love that food halls are starting to be more of a thing in the Twin Cities. These places are more social and less formal than a restaurant but more elevated than a mall food court. Eat Street Crossing boasts nice warehouse-type building and a beautiful courtyard. There are a few vendors selling different types of food like sushi, Vietnamese Bun Bo Hue, bubble tea and ice cream, burgers and sandwiches, a Hawaiian/Asian place and of course a big bar with a pour it yourself beer wall.
We ended up eating at Staff Meeting, with the "Hawaii Street food vibes with the comforting flavors of Che Louross' Filipino heritage." I don't know about Filipino as I didn't see anything in the menu that points to that cuisine, but it certainly is Asian fusion, as Hawaiian food tends to be. Their best food is the Drowned Dumpling - a pan-fried gyoza. The gyoza filling is bomb! It was very flavorful even without the sauce. We also ordered the kimchi fried rice, which is nothing like a real Korean kimchi fried rice, but the flavors are there. The kimchi is there too, but it's not as prominent as the real thing. Our least favorite order was the Dragons Breath-- deep-fried chicken karaage. It was just a little tood dry. It was crunchy, sure, but I think a sauce may help this one out.
Of course, we had to try the Beer Wall. They had Minnesota beers and Loon Juice cider. You pay by the ounce so you can choose to pour a smaller pour if you like.
Lastly, I tried Bebe Zito's ice cream. I had the coffee and salted caramel flavors that complement each other well.
I'm glad to explore this side of Eat Street, and I hope more revitalization like this in the area happens, especially when Nicolett Ave finally opens up...
