I went into this establishment tonight and order the sweet and sour chicken special (sub the house special fried rice) and asked for the dinner special of four wings w/ chicken fried rice. Also ended my orders with a small spicy chicken fried rice. When I received my orders ( all in boxes and not the plastic containers ) I made a comment about not truly receiving dinner specials like normal. There was another patron ordering his food so I left after making sure all of my orders were there. When I got home and sat my grandson down to eat I discovered. That the small box which should have been his chicken fried rice (cfr) was egg foo young. The four little pieces of wings where fried so hard that it hurt his teeth to bite it. There was a very tiny little box of fried rice and four cold dry wong tons. We don't eat egg foo young. I will be taking this disgusting food back to the restaurant tomorrow (Saturday 11/11) and they can do what ever they want with it. I can say that if you eat here please do it before 8pm because they give you the left over that are meant for the garbage when you order close to closing time (9pm). It's a matter of respect. If I respect you enough to still pay your outrageous prices, you should at least respect me enough to give me only what I ordered that's been properly cooked and...
Read moreWe wanted to try a new Chinese take-out place and we found this little gem here. This place is literally a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, which is what makes it special.
We couldn't find their menu, but when we called the place the woman on the other end was very accommodating and helped us place an order for what we were looking for.
When we got there to pick it up the service was great. You could tell they appreciate your business. She tossed a menu in the bag so we will be able to order better next time.
When we got home, we both enjoyed our meals. They were delicious.... Our only critique is the egg rolls were a bit different than what we are used to. They were still good though. Will definitely be ordering from this place again!
P.S. they only accept cash. Which isn't a big deal for us because we prefer paying in cash anyways, but for others reading this...
Read moreA strange, but wonderful little hole in the wall in North Minneapolis, but ABSOLUTELY worth the trip.
With a front door you would expect to find at a house and the plexiglass wall with sliding window and loudspeaker, you kinda feel like you stepped through a wormhole into an old subway station somewhere, but the menu is posted right on the glass and for $20 (plus tax) I got 2 combo plates that included the entrees (which were cooked fresh and tasted amazing), chicken fried rice and egg rolls. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes and was very pleased with everything. I will absolutely be returning soon.
WARNING: they do only take cash, but if push comes to shove the market nextdoor has an ATM, so it's not...
