Stopped here on a Sunday after camping in the area. They have a nice deck that faces Main Street that makes a great place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. I had the special of the day which was a pulled pork sandwich with fries for $11. Nothing was wrong with the sandwich and I enjoyed it, but the pulled pork was pretty unforgettable to be honest. Also, the portion on the sandwich was pretty small. Usually with a pulled pork sandwich I expect the meat to be spilling out the sides. The BBQ sauces at the table were pretty middle of the road as well. Good, but nothing that would stick out in my mind as amazing.
My girlfriend got the hot wings were were excellent. Big, meaty, chicken wings that were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Excellent wing sauce with just the right about of spicy.
The service was friendly and I probably would stop here again. I'm just not sure if this is the "best" BBQ...
Read moreI love going to small privately owned establishments such as this. The staff was super friendly and the food was really good. We were hungry and decided to stop in after a long kayak trip, I'm glad we did. The brisket was moist and tender, which seems to be a rarity with bbq joints. Pulled pork was equally as good. Mac 'n cheese was good and had a nice jalapeño kick to it. Hush puppies were also delicious. The only downfall was the baked beans. They seemed a bit bland, like they came out of a can. I had the mild bbq sauce, It might be a bit thin for some people. It seems to be a more vinegar forward sauce. I liked it quite a bit, though. It wasn't overly laden with chili powder, which seems to be a thing with bbq places out west. It's hard to find good bbq in Colorado, Kirby Cosmos is one of the better ones! I'll definitely come back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA friend and I came here after hiking a 14er. We were in desperate need of a beer and a good meal at a dog friendly spot. Kirby Cosmoās over-delivered. They have an Espresso Martini on their cocktail menu (at a BBQ place?? Amazing) which was served promptly. Our waitress took our whole order and our food was out in less than 10 minutes. The wings were some of the best Iāve ever had, as were the fries. The pulled pork sandwichās only problem was that I wouldāve preferred more BBQ sauce on it, but there are bottles on the table to remedy that problem. All of this on top of friendly service, that beautiful, small mountain town vibe, and our dogs being allowed inside when it rained, makes for one of the best BBQ joints Iāve ever had the pleasure of...
