First time in Minturn - and we would come back to stop here. Got two massive burritos and two solid beers (Outer Range Brewing - In The Steep) and we got some chips with queso - spent $45 total all in. Not bad, plus great value because the food was really good.
The Cali Style burrito was full of flavor and was well cooked. It had a unique seasoning on it. It almost tasted like curry of some type, but not to say that that detracted from the overall burrito, which, by the way, was served PIPING hot. Both mine and my gf’s burritos came out damn hot, and were good to the point that we ate til we were stuffed. Solid. Only thing that could’ve used some more pizazz was the queso, which came with some really nice chips but the overall flavor of the queso could be improved. However, it was still a hot, tasty appetizer to hold us over after a long drive up I-70.
The atmosphere is cool too, though not exactly what I would expect in a sleepy bedroom community like Minturn. There are skateboards screwed to the walls all the way around the perimeter, each with its own colorful yet unique design which is easy to appreciate. The walls are also free-hand painted with mountains, adding to a slight counter-cultured yet fitting apres vibe.
The service was great. We met Dale who took our order and did not hold back on recommendations or stickers.
Like I said, we will likely be...
Read moreI have been coming to this restaurant before the renovation and i never had experience any issues when eating inside the restaurant with my service dog. The lady that served us not only ask us to leave but made our order to go on purpose and when she saw we were dining in she raised her arms at us saying “Really guys”!. As you can see my dog is highly noted as service dog and even though we told her she didn’t even had the decency to have an extra customer service and come close to talk to us but sent someone to clean tables around us to check and make us feel uncomfortable while eating . As soon as she saw me taking pictures she immediately hide in the back and never came back. The sad part is that my favorite thing to come to avon is to eat the hippie crack tacos / burrito which i love so much I sometimes recreate at home. If you constantly have the food truck open I wouldn’t have to come to your stupid location in Minturn which is obviously not trained enough to be nice to customers. I will def never come back to this location and I will advice other residents about these treatment since I constantly travel...
Read moreJust had some burgers and fries from here. I already know their tacos, burritos etc. are amazing from visiting other locations but we were in the burger mood. The Danimal style burgers and the fries (will try as Danimal style fries next time too) were exceptional. In my opinion, the Danimal style burger is the best fast casual burger in the Vail valley. Big double patty, brioche bun, good pickles and sauce and you can get the habanero crema (I could drink this stuff it’s so good) on the side. If you’re looking for a killer burger and fries, don’t count this place out.
As for the brick and mortar location, it looked clean, well laid out and will be a great spot with a cool patio once they are allowed to seat patrons again post COVID. In the meantime, go visit and get a killer burger, burrito or whatever else you’re in...
