We love la carreta restaurants, used to go to Miramar location we stopped going because, we noticed what was happening more than once 3 times actually. At the end of our lunch or dinner we wood ask for the check, the waitress would come to us with the machine, she would hand you the machine, but then say do you understand how to pay, I can help, all Spanish speaking waitresses, I was born in Miami, I know how to work the money machine.she would get annoyed and say I’ll help you if you don’t understand English. We noticed 3 times she did that so she can ad on her own tip, not 15 or 30 but 45% the last time we tried asking for a manager, waitress said no managers on duty, time before that, she would just stand there, we told her thank you hoping she would walk away, she didn’t,she told us she had to stand there because on occasions the machines were being taken. If you go to any restaurant watch out for these intelligent begins. Helping you to swipe you’re card just so the can help them selves to 45% it’s lo not right and to us it’s criminal. We left and never went back…this is an update, today 03/30/25 we went back to this place, same administration same problem I called back to complaint, they said no manager available, my 30 dollar oxtail was horrible and portion very small, when we got there we asked for a English speaking waitress, looks like they were offended by that alone… at moment of payment the waitress wants to cash you out, I told her no I have been here all my life I know how it works, waitress says it’s policy that they do it, so they can tip themselves the 45 %% don’t let them do this, I have been to many la Carretas, this one is the worst. When a waitress wants to tip herself I think that’s pretty cut throat and dishonest…..there is many real bilingual women looking for work that would do a better job… the waitresses at this location are slick and ready to rip you off don’t let them…. Not ever ever going back there 3 strikes you’re out…. Waitresses say it’s administration policy. So who’s the crook admin or employeees???? I think both…Update// I spoke with GM at la carreta Miramar, he confirmed policy, of employee making the payment for the customer, these waitresses are taking advantage and writing in their own 45% tip, I told him no other restaurant does that, most restaurants hand you the kiosk and let you decide how much tip you choose to give… he said nothing he can do because that’s their policy, we have been to other la carreta, there is no...
Read moreIt's so frustrating to order from this La Carreta via UberEats. In the past they have forgotten to complete the order or we end up receiving the wrong item. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because Nelson, the manager is THE BEST RESTAURANT MANAGER in the world! What this man did to resolve this issue left me astonished and with hope that customer service still exists in South Florida.
On July 22nd, I ordered Imperial Rice via UberEats (which consists of yellow rice, de-boned chicken, roasted bell peppers, green peas, hard boiled eggs, mayo and cheese). This is from their family menu.
Instead , we received yellow rice with chicken! That's it! What's worse, is trying to explain the mistake with La Carreta (Natalie or Arlene cannot remember her name). She was very argumentative and told me that cheese is extra and if I wanted cheese on my " imperial rice" I was supposed to request it separately and it's an extra cost!!!??? Are you freaking kidding me????? What about the boiled eggs, green peas, eggs and mayo??? Are we supposed to call Pizzerias to request cheese be added to pizzas? Lol I could not believe what I was hearing. All of these items ARE PART OF IMPERIAL RICE! By simply clicking on "imperial rice" on UberEats, I should receive exactly that! I've ordered this before and never had issues until this day!
I requested to speak to the manager immediately. He came in person to our house to deliver us the correct order. My hats off to this manager for resolving this in a diligent and timely manner! Below is a picture of what we received and the next one is what imperial rice is supposed to look like simply by clicking on "imperial rice" without paying extra for ANY...
Read moreI hardly ever give a 1 Star review, if I could I'd give a 0 star. Please do not eat here!
I took my family of 6 last night 7/3/2019 around 9:30pm. Mind you the place closes at 11pm. So I know I wasn't cutting it close in terms of kitchen closing.
We were sat near the bar away from the main dining area which I thought was strange but didn't pay it any other mind. We ordered several dishes, Vaca Frita, pork chops, fried pork chunks, shrimp curry, dolphin, and the Cuban sampler.
Some of the food came out cold. The Moro rice was hard as if it wasn't even cooked. It felt like I was chipping my tooth with each bite. Complained. Brought another Moro rice with the same texture. At this point, I just stopped eating the rice. Ordered fries, they were soggy. Not even crunchy.
When we got the pork chunks, there was 4 pieces. Now mind you this is a dinner portion not a lunch. Told the waiter the whole meal was disappointing.
My brother was half way through eating his pork chops when we realized they weren't even cooked properly. Some parts were pink. And I'm not taking lightly pink, extremely pink.
At this point, I was exhausted with the complains. Spoke to the manager whom I didn't get a name. And all he did was put his hands up. No apology. No resolution but to throw his hands up.
I just grabbed the bill. Paid the bill in full. And left the waiter a 20% tip. Just cause the kitchen messed up, I wasn't going to take it out on the waiter. But the manager could have done something about the bill. But he did nothing at all.
This is on my to go NEVER list. I'm disappointed cause this place was recommended by a couple people to eat at. I will be sharing my experience with...
