This place is authentic Japanese! First of all, the place is beautiful! All Japanese art on the walls, and the way the dishes are presented are very neat and cute. For example, I had Krab Rangoon. They were presented to me on a small plate, with a doily underneath the four rangoons (which were filled to fatness!), with a bit of garnish on the side for a gorgeous presentation. There is a food bar rotating in the center of the restaurant with all types, each on its own little boat, so you have a variety to look and choose from. Lastly, there is the Hibachi bar where they cook in front of you. They give you an appetizer of soup and salad. I must say the salad dressing is the most delicious I’ve ever had! A nice semi tart yet sweet delicious ginger dressing. The soup is honestly a bit salty and lacking in ingredients. I had to ask for more to be added! The chef was very nice. First of all, my friend and I are very “stressful” with needs due to our health issues. He was very accommodating, making sure the seafood did not touch other foods due to allergies. I told him I could not have butter and was fine making my food with just oil. Asking him to cook food for extra tender was fine by him. He made jokes, he was smiling, and very accommodating to two women with all these problems. The waitress was attentive to not only us but to the chef as well. She didn’t waste time getting anything requested. Most places when it’s someone’s birthday, they come and sing happy birthday quite boringly and repetitively like all places. This place has the big Japanese drum with some awesome beats as they sing happy birthday! It’s nice to be that center of attention because the music is pretty good for the small amount of time you hear it! For the prices, the portions are big so you are not overpaying at all. It is not expensive but it is not cheap either. You do get what you pay for! I highly recommend this place....
Read moreSaw a roach at our first habachi table on the little dishes they use to put the sauces in. The young lady Ashley that I first showed it to was very apologetic as she captured the roach in a napkin and took it along with the dishes it was on away. The manager came out, no apology for the situation or anything just said as I looked at him “yeah, we’re going to change your table. We changed tables and I watched them reset the table with the roach without even cleaning it. Disgusting!!!!!!! Should have taken that as our cue to leave but it was late and we were too tired to try and think of somewhere else to go. Dinner starts. I swear we had the most boring chef. Could have looked past that if his food was good. Absolutely wasn’t!!!! HE USED SOY SAUCE AS A SEASONING FOR EVERYTHING. When I asked him not to use the soy sauce on my scallops he seemed confused as if he didn’t know how to cook without it. He asked me what to put on them then. SMH. He drenched the vegetables in it. I used 3 napkins to try and absorb as much out as I could. OMG!!!! Everything was salty and all tasted the same. My oldest son laughed saying we were going to all wake up in the middle of the night thirsty because of how salty everything was. At the end of the dinner, I addressed my concerns with the young lady Ashley and she apologized again and said he was a new chef there. Shouldn’t new chefs be trained with one of the long standing chefs at the restaurant? Why did my family night out have to be ruined by a high sodium intake and a chef that hasn’t been trained to cook the hibachi meals properly. Oh, I forgot to mention that he never scraped the mess between cooking the egg, the meat, the seafood, and the vegetables. He just cooked everything on top of what was left behind from what he cooked before. Isn’t that cross contamination. Yuck!!!!!! Never again....
Read moreThis is the first time that this place this place has disappointed me. I would normally come at least twice a week to this restaurant just to order take out, because I really enjoy their food.
I made dinner reservations for my son’s surprise birthday on Sunday (May 21, 2023) at 6:00pm-6:30pm. We arrived and had to wait almost an hour before we were seated. Got seated and was advised that they only had 2 chefs. The young lady that took our drinks orders advised me to place our order, so that the chef would come over to our table next. Well we did, and the chef didn’t come until almost 2 hours later. This was ridiculous!! Then the chefs comes, he starts cooking and serving the rice. I noticed that they had gave us a shorter portion of rice than usual. I mentioned it to them, and they said that they would provide more rice. Afterwards as the chef was serving the vegetables, someone in my party found hair in their food, and mentioned it to the chef. He took the piece of hair and said that the hair came from the mushrooms. This further fueled my party leaving everyone very disappointed and upset. Simply take accountability and just apologize and see how you can make the party comfortable.
This use to be my favorite restaurant. There were a couple of people that were in my party that had never been to the restaurant before, and that day was their first day; so they were looking at me confused, asking me why is this my favorite restaurant again?…. Long story short. They will not be visiting this restaurant again. I recommendation to management is to take accountability, acknowledge and apologize to the customers, and offer some kind of compensation, because you don’t want to loose customers. You want your customers to keep coming back. Word of mouth goes a...
