I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately the food fell short in several areas.
The carne asada tacos contained an overwhelming amount of fat, which made them unpleasant to eat. The esquite was watery (to the point where I had to drain the excessive amount of water) rather than creamy and flavorful. and the chips with salsa were a particular disappointment. At $7, I expected something fresh, but the salsa tasted almost if not identical to a jarred Tostitos salsa. The chicken burrito also missed the mark—the ingredients were soggy and indistinguishable due to the excess liquid from the pico de gallo, resulting in a mushy texture.
Additionally, all of the food was served cold, which was surprising given that I picked up my order within ten minutes of placing it. While I will say the service itself was good, and the place is decorated very nicely, the food lacked both flavor and quality, and overall did not meet expectations. Read moreQuaint little Mexican restaurant with many big reasons to return. First the ambiance. It’s a tasteful traditional Mexican decor with a Coco (movie) theme. Very comfy chairs and in the way to the restroom I saw two cool private tables in the back which is great for those that want privacy. Second, the service. Our server Josh is a pleasant young man that has a sense of amazing service with a big personality to go with it. He made it fun and informative. Last and not least, THE FOOD. Authentic, tasteful but not overly seasoned and darn right delicious. We had the lengua taco, delish! The chimichanga, WOW! And the flan was nice too! Only draw back is that I foresee this place getting packed every night so go early ! Job well done and see you...

As someone trained in food safety management, this raised some red flags for me. The restaurant hasn’t been particularly busy since opening recently, which makes me worry about how ingredients are being stored and handled. I also noticed other reviews referencing issues like the grill not working, which adds to the concern. I work in food quality and food safety for a manufacturing company, so I tend to be critical in this area. But based on our experience, we won’t be returning.
