I've never been to Mishawaka in my life until yesterday. I've been following Dari fair since I happened to see them make the turtle cone. So, finally the opportunity came and my daughter, granddaughter and I stopped there. They were busy, which I expected, but we were able to place order quickly. So, here's the problem with this business and the reason we will not be returning: They have no system of getting orders to customers. They shout out what they just made, then go on.. they do not give complete orders to groups and they don't do it in any orderly fashion. My granddaughters was ready very quickly even though there were a lot of people ahead of us. Then they called out what my daughter ordered a few minutes later and after other people's orders. Then they called out an order that was close to what mine was - my daughter and I both had to try the turtle cones- the guy that took our order said that was mine and I said no, I asked you if you had the turtle cones and I said we'll take 2. So what happened was a lady that had ordered a turtle sundae accidentally had taken my turtle cone. Very understandable, especially since they way they serve the orders is completely random. And if you've never been there before, it makes it very difficult and super confusing. Here's the worst and most appalling part of it. THEY MADE THE LADY WHO MISTAKENLY TAKEN WHAT I ORDERED PAY FOR IT!!!!! It was clearly not her fault! I have feeling that happens frequently. She paid for it, which I certainly wouldn't have done! We will be returning to Mishawaka, because it's a nice town with a lot to do. But, we will NOT be returning...
Read moreI was excited to take my daughter and grandkids to Dari Fair as I've always heard it's a great place. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. We weren't sure about how to order as it wasn't clear if the ice cream menu was scooped or soft serve. I told the older man that was taking orders that it was our first visit and asked him a couple of questions all that were answered with 1 word answers. He made us feel like we were inconveniencing him not a welcomed 1st time customer. Just a note, they weren't overly busy at the time and nobody else was waiting to order. We ordered both hot food and ice cream. After a few minutes, they called our number and gave me 1 item, ice cream. I commented that I figured we would get our hot food first and was told I had to ask that when ordering. Again, this was my first visit so I didn't know that. We ordered 8 items and they literally called our number 6 different times. A few of us were almost done with our ice cream before the others even got there's. Between the cost, the service and the rudeness of the staff, we will not come back. It's sad too because it's so close to home, right by the park and I'd rather support...
Read moreStopped by tonight for a treat for kiddos, but I wanted something besides ice cream (lactose intolerant) it was shortly after 8, business closes at 9...ordering and was told kitchen closes at 8 by a man sitting in a chair taking orders who seemed irritated at life...um ok, but that's not posted anywhere. No biggie, still order ice cream for kiddos. I am sitting at a picnic table with my ESA (6 pound emotional support animal) who is strapped to me in a doggie carrier watching kiddos enjoy ice cream, so the pup decides to stick his legs out and prop on the already dirty outside picnic table...and the man hollers out the window "please get your dog off the table" ok sir, I sure will and I will also never come to your business again, you shouldn't be on FB saying come support our business when you clearly turned away $$$ when I could smell the grill cooking still. My 6 pound dog with his 2 front paws on a already dirty table were NOT hurting a thing. A business with everything on the menu should not have randomly say kitchen is closed when the...
