Baja Fish Tacos — Restaurant in Mission Viejo

I love this place but I feel there prices are unreasonable. I paid $18 for tacos and $15 for a bean, cheese and carne asada taco, with a half order of chips it came to $55.00. It’s damn good food but for a place that makes your order at the counter, buy chips and fill your own salsa it’s waaaaayyyyy overpriced in my opinion. I suggest all you Mexican cuisine fans try La Perla Taqueria off Alicia, Taco Mess off Los Alisos or the the mexican restaurant on the other side of Sprouts. If you’re willing to drive and don’t mind paying $15-20 per entree for the right setting then head to Taco Rosa in Irvine where they take your order, serve you and give you a free appetizer which always changes so you never know what they will surprise you with. Baja Fish Tacos is one of my favorite places for fresh Mexican food and have been to quite a few of them dating back to when they opened in Costa Mesa. The food is good at this location but the last few times I’ve gone into the restaurant with a group of mountain bike friends, the employees always seem unhappy and uninviting. I believe it’s because we arrive near 8:15-8:30 (they close at 9) due to our after work ride. They purposefully drag the metal chairs on the floor and slam them onto the table to prep for closing. It’s highly annoying and after the third time, we have decided to go to La Tia, a great little restaurant down the road. Great food but...

This was my family and I's favorite place for every Friday night. We would get 4-6 Baja Bowls with sides of chips and salsa.

They have some of the best chips and salsa around for south county. Or I should say HAD the best chips... They recently changed their chips to something cheap. You could pick any store bought chips and they would be better than what BFT is currently giving their customers. Since this is such a big part of our dinner to use with both the bowls and the salsas. We wont be returning until they are switched back.

We could tolerate the prices sky rocketing and smaller portions in the last 2-3 years but change the chips? I cant...
