so gross. i had a terrible experience a few months ago due to blatant RACISM and they deleted my review on yelp so i’m leaving one here because i will not be silenced.
my husband and i were shopping around the area and decided to come to this spot since it sounded good. food was okay. the boy who took our order, buzz cut ( with no tattoos since there’s 2 of them ), clearly did not want to take our order but did anyway. i wanted the strawberry orange canned drink and he told me, ‘that’s actually guava’ … what ? anyway , he handed me something i didn’t even want or sounded close to what i said but i took it anyway since i thought the drinks might just be decoration. fast forward, food came and a young lady who brought it to our table was super nice and asked us if we needed anything else. we ate. saw the guy who took our order asking all the tables around us if they were okay but intentionally skipped over our table. we were full but needed some to go boxes. we see the same guy give a table near us a to go box so we wait for him to walk around again. again, intentionally ignores us and speaks to a different table. at this point, i’m getting annoyed because we did nothing to upset this dude. (we were the only brown people here btw). finally, we ask him and he didn’t let us finish our sentence & said ‘over there’ yeah no. unacceptable. he comes up to us and asks if he wants us to have him bring us one. absolutely not. we say no. we take our food and leave.
my previous review was not as harsh but if you’re going to delete my review because you don’t want it hurting your 3-4 stars, maybe speak to your staff about how they treat people. deleting reviews won’t make it go away....
Read moreI recently ordered from Aloha Stacks via Uber Eats while attending a sports tournament in the area, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired.
Despite the convenience of Uber Eats, the higher pricing didn't justify the quality of the food I received. My hibachi steak lunch with fried rice and mac salad was marred by a peculiar addition--relish in the mac salad, which was quite different from the other traditional Hawaiian recipes I'm accustomed to.
While the spam musubis were passable, the incomplete wrapping of seaweed around them raised questions about attention to detail in the kitchen. Moreover, the lack of travel-friendly packaging resulted in a messy mix-up, with my steak ending up mixed into the mac salad and rice.
To add to the frustration, the latte arrived warm and spilled during transit, further detracting from the overall experience. Similarly, the spam & eggs order suffered from the same issue of everything being jumbled together.
Despite making a call to the restaurant to request cutlery, napkins, and condiments, the promised provisions fell short. The minimal napkins provided were inadequate for the size of my order, and the condiments included were limited, leaving me wishing for essentials like syrup or jam for my pancakes.
Overall, the hefty price tag of over $100 for this order felt like a rip-off, given the lackluster quality and subpar service. Aloha Stacks in Mission Viejo failed to deliver on expectations, leaving me unsatisfied and...
Read moreOrdered the 2 eggs and Corned Beef Hash. This should have been dairy free and gluten free. I informed the person taking my order that I have those food allergies. They said that they were let the kitchen staff and cooks know this.
After ordering, I read the menu and there is a portion on the menu that says the following:
"We are unable to guarantee that any menu item is free from gluten or any allergen, and we assume no responsibility for guests with food allergies or sensitivities."
So after reading that and receiving my food and consuming it it comes as no surprise to me that I had a reaction. While the food itself (corned beef and eggs) do not contain dairy or gluten, how the restaurant chooses to prepare the food can completely influence this... Frying things in butter, not cooking food in an area that had been cleaned and sanitized from preparation of gluten or dairy products, not using clean cooking utensils to prepare dairy-free and gluten-free food are among the ways food gets cross-contaminated when it should not. When a restaurant absolves itself from responsibility like Stacks has, it tells me that they are not committed to safe food handling practices and ignore the food handlers permit requirements in the state of California.
