Busy Sunday Morning: I found this to be a unique experience. When you walk in you are greeted by a host/guide that explains the process. This is a cross between counter service and table service. I recommend selecting a table and then placing your order if it is busy. At the counter you will place your order and pay for your meal. You will get a number but it is important to remember what you ordered ( in a larger group ) because when the server brings your order they are just looking for a number. If you want butter, jelly, or hot sauce, get it when you order. The servers are polite and will happily get anything you want but waiting for one to walk by could be frustrating. The process to me was confusing and it seemed confusing for the servers. The food was good but several at our table reported the meat being overcooked. I had chilaquiles and was very happy with my meal. My wife has huevos rancheros and she liked it. The flour tortillas were chewy like they had been sitting too long and were microwaved. We will return for lunch...

We moved to a smaller table in the middle of the dining area, where space was tight and people constantly bumped into us while trying to pass.
The worst part? The party of 10 never showed up. After moving us, the staff even began putting “reserved” signs on several tables — but they remained empty during our time there.
It’s really disappointing because we’ve never had a bad experience at any other location where seating is usually first-come, first-served. This left a bad impression on what would have otherwise been an enjoyable meal. Food wasn’t hot but it was good. Definitely the Pharr location is...

There was a huge wait time but the owner Roel did us a solid and we were accomodated at the bar right away. Thalia was very nice and the service was very welcoming. The food is on point, I had the chilaquiles and my wife had the gorditas and let me tell you something, they were up at the top 3 chilaquiles I have ever had. Thank you to El Itacate for the exeprience and we will be making this our go to weekend brunch destination...
