Jalapeño Grill — Restaurant in Mississippi

THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING..... however... The building is in good condition with tons of parking. However, when we opened the door they were vacuuming, and it appeared as if they were not ready for customers. We stood there a minute and were then seated quickly. Then someone else took our drink order. Someone else brought us chips. These were done quickly and efficiently but with no personable attention. The place was clean and it had a nice atmosphere, except for the competing songs that were blasting from two different rooms. I ordered the taco salad, and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD! My wife ordered the express lunch. However, it took a bit to get the food to us. While we were waiting the corn tortilla chips and salsa were keeping us occupied. The chips were fresh and delicious and the salsa was fresh and probably hot enough for someone from Mississippi, but I am from Texas LOL. Oh, and I almost forgot the smoke from one of the plates that was served to the other customer in the restaurant. I thought I was going to have to dial 911 from all the smoke! lol. Everything was ok, but they kind of just let her food burn on her table without bothering to console them.

If it was on the food alone, I would go five stars all the way. The food was really worth enduring the other minor problems. I know covid has hit restaurants hard and I wish them the best. Maybe I will give it another try in a few months and update my review...

the flautas and shredded beef fried tacos are my favorite thing to eat, but my very favorite thing about the jalapeño grill on washington avenue is the atmosphere and the servers! they are always so nice and helpful. we go nearly weekly. this week, i decided to bring my whole family, a party of 20! 😯 i called and let them know on the way and i could tell they were absolutely terrified because it was a sunday and it was packed already. we nicely waited in the area and i kept assuring them the wait was fine. we were sat at a big table all together and our drinks and cheese dips were all brought out very quickly. we almost all ordered tea and basically emptied all the tea they had! they had to make more and they apologized, i assured them everything was fine and i kept letting my waitress know that we were doing okay and she was doing well. i kept thanking everyone. our food came out perfectly fresh and surprisingly quick with just a couple tiny small mess ups and they were easily fixed and i just absolutely adored our waitress!!! i tipped 50% and can’t wait to go again :) and i’d also like to mention the nice waiter who complimented my brand new dress 🥰 thank you everybody, we love the...

The food wasn't good at all. The margaritas alcohol used was really cheap with a nasty after taste. I requested a water with lemon instead and received a water with no lemon and something on the ice. Sent it back and the clear cup had brown or red spots inside the bottom of the cup. Finally got food, the happy plate had brown straight hair all across the plate on top of the food. Showed the waitress and requested to keep the plate on the table until the replacement came out, the waitress said she had to take it to the back. I explained the reasoning behind switching it once the fresh one came out, she said they had to take it in order to bring a new one. New one came out in a completely different plate, quicker than the time it took to bring our food out. The other food had rice and beans. The rice wasn't completely cooked and the beans had a really nasty taste. Needless to say, we paid almost $50 for everything except the happy plate, left and will NEVER eat...
