By the NAAN! It was just a quick, simple “to go” order of butter chicken, naan, and hot chai. Perfection tried and true. Chef Anand’s deep love for giving Mississippians a true, authentic taste of the various regions of India shines in so many of his signature dishes, yet my teenage son’s favorites are always this simple, filling combination.
Chef came out to greet me while I waited. In his hands he had something for me to try: two fresh versions of his exquisite naan: Chili Marsala Naan and and Garlic Marsala Naan… folks, I kid you not, this is the bread of heaven! The flavors and warmth just both melt and explode in you mouth. Your tongue hardly knows what to do with itself! The heat of the Chili Marsala is bright and perky, swabbed with just the right amount of butter and a dusting of fresh cilantro. You want to both chew it slowly and savor the deliciousness of it and simultaneously gobble it down like one who has not had a proper meal in many a week. You lick your lips and smile: this is what good food is meant to be! The Garlic Marsala Naan is also spectacularly good, and made for those sensitive tummy’s do better with a calmer version spice and no heat.
There is a crispness to the edges of the naan that was on the high heat just moments ago… the slight bit of char around the edges that reminds one of the best campfire meals and prods you to eat another bite of the savory goodness.

Read moreIts difficult to nitpick about this place. As soon as I walked in, the chef/owner asked me if I had ever had Indian food before which I had not. He then went over the menu with me, patient and answering all my questions. He recommended some things for me since i said im not big on spice. He was the epitome of a gentlemen and he didnt feel like a sleazy car salesman trying to get me to spend more money yknow. The food itself, even though i ordered mild, had a bit of a spice to it but again im not big on spice so im just probably sensitive to it. I had Samosas for appetizer, Chicken Tikka Masala for my main, and Kheer (rice pudding) for dessert. The samosa wasnt super filling which is good as an appetizer but they were tasty. I didnt finish the Chicken Tikka Masala as the portion size was more than enough. I wasnt expecting to get half the plate size that I got. I'd never had rice pudding so to me it was fine -- it just tastes like white rice soaked in milk really, but someone told me it isnt supposed to be so like a soup. I really dont know, but thats the only reason I took one star. I can tell you it tasted good, sweet and light after a heavy meal. The service was great. The waitress was sweet in a southern hospitality sort of way and the chef came out and checked on the tables often. Overall, i enjoyed myself and if you're just trying out Indian like me, I'd recommend starting with...
Read moreFirst time trying kebab and curry. First of all, I am very sorry to myself for waiting this long to get there. The food was absolutely beyond delicious, fresh, and most definitely authentic. I pulled up to the restaurant at 1:45 in the afternoon, not realizing that they close at 2 o’clock to prepare for their dinner hours. The owner and chef, Jeteender Anand, sincerely insisted that I stay and try the food despite them closing. He was so enthusiastic about catering to a new customer it was so refreshing and appreciated. His server, a younger female, approached me within one minute of walking in to offer me a drink. She was so kind and not at all upset that the owner was letting me eat after hours. They truly wanted me to enjoy a lunch. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, and it came with garlic naan and basmati rice. The chef Asked me how my meal was and brought me more rice. We got into talking for several minutes and so I learned just how passionate he was about serving Mississippi real good Indian food. I would say mission most definitely accomplished. If you have not been to kebab and Curry I highly suggest you get to Madison and try it. If you have never had Indian food before, he has a buffet so you can try out different types of Indian foods to find...
