After looking over their online menu and nutrition section, I decided the taco salad with chicken was just what I was looking for. At 310 calories it fit well into my midday diet program. Also available without shell. The deep dried shell held finely cut lettuce/cabbage mix, tomatoes, Cheddar cheese and topped with perhaps one quarter cup of salsa marinated white meat chicken. The chicken had a nice flavor of salsa throughout without being too hot or spicy. I was a bit disappointed to find my portion of chicken contained a large amount of rubbery, chewy skin, otherwise I would have given the salad 5☆. It did surprise me there were no frijoles but at 310 calories, it made sense they were left off to keep this a rather healthy choice. This salad was filling and satisfying for a lunch entree on the lighter side. Seasoned ground beef was the other meat topping option albeit at a higher calorie level of 360. I recommend this chicken taco salad with or without the shell depending on your preferences. I will be more aware next time to request the chicken without skin...
Read moreTaco Time used to be one of my favorite Mexican fast food restaurants, but haven't been to one for a long time because there isn't one near me. Was happy to see this one on a recent trip. Went through the drive-thru. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet it took forever to get our order. Got a couple of miles down the street and looked inside the bag. No taco burger. Drove back. Went inside where they had it waiting. No apology, just dropped it in the bag. As disappointing as the service was, the food was even worse. Taco Time used to have the best meat. We had three different items, but the same meat mixture in all of them. Not exactly sure what it was, but looked like a tiny amount of ground beef mixed with beans and some sort of mystery meat. Taco Time has always been more expensive than its competition, but we were willing to pay extra for better quality food. Now it's expensive and the food is gross. If this is the new Taco Time, we're...
Read moreI have a thing for fresh Tex-Mex, which I had been deprived of for months, and was estatic when I finally tried this place. I had been avoiding it, thinking it was going to disappoint me like Taco John's, but it turned out to be a million times better. This isn't authentic Mexican food, so don't be coming here expecting that. I hope most people coming to chains like this aren't expecting that because that isn't really what most of these chains are trying to be in the first place.
Their tacos and bean and cheese burritos are very reminiscent of the Tex-Mex that I was spoiled with further south. I mean, Taco Bell is decent enough, which are obviously here in Missoula, but their dehydrated beans are a bit of a turn off. The beans here are at least not the dehydrated, powder variety!
I'm so, so happy that I found my new cheap, fresh taco and burrito joint. I will definitely be a...
