Very disappointing lunch buffet at Shayona cafe.
Basmati rice - excellent Sauce- very runny, tasted sweet sugary. Was mentioned at Daal Vegetable side - peas and Zucchini. Under cooked. Very runny, the sauce , spice did not cook well together Roti - was a joke. Premade tortillas warmed up and basted with butter? Tasted funny Other items - A sweet cube, crunchy chips, spongy cubes were borrowed from the near by store. Yogurt with boondi - was very sweet. Too much sugar in this dish. Green chilli pickle canned. Also from the store. This does not make up a Buffett. No water. Or chai is included in the buffet
And no water or cups anywhere so take your own water bottle if you plan to dine in.
The service was SLOW... very slow, though the 2 folks working tried hard to keep it together
I am from Midwest and visit the Chicago BAPS Shayona cafe very often.. Compared to Bartlett's, Sugarland is nowhere close their quality, taste nor their offering.
This buffett is not worth the money considering what is offered on the menu where most items are store bought and...
Read moreI recently visited Shayona Cafe and was thoroughly impressed by both the quality of the food and the overall experience. Contrary to what some negative reviews have mentioned about the buffet being overpriced, I found it to be quite affordable for the quantity and quality of food offered. The food is clean, fresh, and delicious, especially for those who prefer vegetarian options. It’s also important to note that Shayona Cafe doesn’t use onion or garlic in its preparations, which makes it a great spot for those with dietary preferences or restrictions.
The service was exceptional—prompt, friendly, and attentive. If there's ever an issue with your meal, I highly recommend speaking directly to the manager. They’re always eager to help and will address any concerns right away, which is far more effective than leaving a negative review without giving them a chance to resolve the situation.
Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend Shayona Cafe for anyone looking for tasty, clean, and affordable...
Read moreI bought a cart full of sweets and snacks to share with friends and family. It took me awhile but finally found the date made and best buy date. I had to go through all sweets packages individually to make sure no food mold growth and sure enough there were 4 packages i saw that had food mold growth in them. I swapped them with latest expiration dates. I didn't bring any of that to their attention because that's not my job. Someone should be in charge of food quality control. The quality and taste has gone down significantly. The snacks are extremely sweet instead of being salty. Honestly threw everything away as we don't give someone what we don't like. Unfortunately my extended family and I will no longer be purchasing from them again. Year after year it's going down hill with...
