We understand that the season is early for Branson and maybe they don't have their "A" team but what happened this week was completely unacceptable. My mother and wife showed up 8PM or so, placed an order. They then proceed to sit at the bar and wait (very hungry mind you) for over an hour for a pretty straightforward order of prime rib skewers and chicken strips. Kind of food any ol' bar and grill churns out. The girl up front, whom we found out was the owners daughter, just completely ignored the multiple petitions from the bartendress to process the order. The owner (again discovered later after my mom finally had enough and started verbalizing her complaints) simply sat by and played darts, completely disengaged with the other staff and what was happening in his restaurant. Frankly if the bartendress hadn't have been such a professional my mom and wife might still be there waiting. The place wasn't even that busy.
The food came out cold, slimy and generally unappetizing. It's a shame I didn't take a picture of the fries because they were the strangest combination of over fried and under done. We're pretty sure they were done then sat for 45 minutes or so under a heat lamp. Complete disaster. The hostess offered some discounts for the next time we come (lol) which we did not accept because why would we come back at that point? So finally they scrounged out some side dishes of mac n cheese that were about to be thrown away and offered a discount on the order. The right thing to do would have been a full refund or offer to remake the order, which they did not do. By doing this the Star Bar basically just accepted that they're OK putting out sub-par food and service (at a...
Read moreMy fiancé and I dined at Star Bar Grill in Branson this evening and endured the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. The service was terrible. We waited 20 minutes at an un-bussed table for a waitress to take our order. We even got up and asked two waitresses if we needed to order up front. Eventually they took our order and we ordered an appetizer as well as a meal. The appetizer took 40 minutes to get to our table, and again, we had to ask if it was coming. During this wait we never were successful at getting our waitress to come over to our table. We waived. She saw us and didn’t come. When we got our food about 5 minutes after finally getting our appetizer (the spinach dip- it was cold and not good tasting when we got it), we had no silverware and said to our waitress, “we need silverware” and she walked away and never brought us silverware. Yet again, we had to get up and go get silverware. All tables around us were in the same predicament. Multiple couples came in and were never helped after 15 minutes and left. The food itself was not good, we only ate it because we were starving at this point. When we were ready to leave we told our waitress that we weren’t going to pay for the appetizer. It was cold, not good, and we waited 40 minutes for it. The manager came over and told us they have young staff and they won’t give free food any time someone doesn’t “appreciate” what they do. This was horrible service and a horrible experience all together. Please do something about this. Especially the staff that hangs out in the kitchen with their friends while 4 tables are un-bussed, there’s food all over the floors, and 4 more tables have never even been given drinks or put...
Read moreIf I could leave ZERO stars I would ! This place is a disaster from beginning to end. The waitress , was nice but confused about absolutely everything . But the 20.00 Bloody Mary and the food was inedible, it's was actually disgusting. We ordered the corn beef hash breakfast with eggs and hash browns . I asked for onions to be added to my hash browns and was told they couldn't because they're already cooked and last time someone asked for onions she did it and for in trouble for it . The corned beef hash was not hash ... it was a whole slice of corned beef that had a funny taste do it , no diced potatoes nothing that said this was corned beef hash. The hash browns were soft , mushy and no color to them. Come fo find out they're out of a bag and cooked in the microwave . The Bloody Mary looked NOTHING like the pic advertised. It came out with two sausage links two PIECES of a waffle , a pickled okra and ONE pickled asparagus... it was the strangest combo ever but the biggest issues was how it tasted . It was so bad it burned my nose when a took a sip . Then my husband tried it and said the same thing , and it tasted Kim's of vinegary , or something , it was a taste I've never experienced and do not want to again ! The staff were all clueless and was not interested in our concerns at all and just kept passing us from one person to another until they finally just ignored us and left us to Sit there and carried on with their tasks . We sat and sat and sat .... finally thru money on the table and walked out hungry and aggravated. Do not waste your time or money here , I have never had food so bad in my 50+ years and I am not...
