Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Missouri

Horrible! The truck in front of us pulled off away from the order screen after waiting for a long time. Acted like he was upset by something. We pulled up. Took a bit. Then girl spoke. As I was ordering, asked what veggies go on the burger so I could make sure my kids wouldn't have allergic reactions. Girl said she wasn't going to tell us because there are too many to list. I asked how I was supposed to know what they had. She said they basically come plain hatefully. I named a couple things. I ordered for another child, she made some other snide remarks. I ordered for me, again asking if she could name the standard dressing for the burger. She again said she wouldn't name them. I asked about a burger, if it came as a meal. She said no it doesn't, then I saw that it did. I told her that on the menu it says to make it a meal. She said it only came with fries. I stated that the menu said it comes with a drink too. She said there was no button on it for that. She gave me grief with everything I tried to order. Pulled up to the car behind the windows and the only person wearing a mask properly was the asst manager Sierra, who was the nasty person taking our order. Employees going to town breathing all over the food, all the food. Seriously, no one working with the food was protecting the customers. The food was slimy and old. I don't know how it was old, because 3 cars sat waiting for their orders for 30 minutes. 3 cars. The asst manager needs to be fired. I will be escalating this to corporate and owners. The manager needs fired! She is a nasty person when they screw up the order. Their error and the manager curses out the customer. Asked for the owner's number or anyone above her,...

I was very excited to try this, the food looked very good on the sign. But it was by far the weirdest encounter I have had with fast food. First of all I waited about 7 minutes before they took my order. When I asked “are you still there” after a good 5 minutes (I was not in a hurry because it was my first time) the girl was very rude an dry telling me “I’ll take your order in just a minute” annoyed. After asking if they accepted Apple Pay(WHICH SHE TOLD ME THEY DID) I finally placed my order. When I got to the window it was a completely confusing mess. Long story short, instead of taking accountability and saying, “turns out we don’t accept Apple Pay” she started telling the weirdest lies. She first said that Apple Pay is not working because they had maintenance come out and they messed it up. Then after trying to pay a different way. She yelled out “OH MY GOSH THE REGISTER JUST COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN” it was extremely odd and confusing. The whole time me and my husband are watching her and 2 other females one a manager, they are bantering back and forth for quite a while. Finally the “manager” tells us they can’t accept any type of phone payments. I wasted 30 minutes for absolutely nothing ! Like why not just say that ? I understand being passive but the lies threw me off. And the manager was no help at all ! She clearly didn’t care at all ! Also I saw an ad while ordering that said I could order through the app. They never once even mentioned that to me at all. And by then I didn’t want it anymore. Being passive is one thing but being a liar is another !! I wish I would’ve got Pinocchio’s name. I Will never stop at this...

I've been to this location several times, and the first time being back in February. They were considerably busy, but my group of four was seated immediately. The waitress took our drink order and food order, and we waited over 45 minutes to receive food. Then the waitress told us that she completely forgot to put our order in. So we had to wait even longer, and the waitress gave us "coupons" to make up for the absolutely horrible service. The coupons were expired by the way, I work fast food, so I know how hectic it can be at times. But I've been to this location on several occasions and have never received even remotely subpar service. I came here again yesterday, and my group of three people didn't receive a waitress after being seated for over 15 minutes, and then we didn't receive our drinks for another 10. We finally ordered our food and had to wait another 30 minutes for it to be delivered to our table. The food was exactly how we expected it to be, and then we decided to order some shakes. There was only two shakes ordered and it took over 30 minutes to receive the shakes. I completely understand that they were a bit busy, but as I looked over, the employees were just talking amongst each other most of the time and not making any orders. This service is absolutely terrible and I keep coming back in hopes of the service improving but I have been proved wrong time and time again.
