Love's Seafood — Restaurant in Mobile

Their food used to be really good, but apparently they've changed some things because the food I got from there yesterday was not good at all. I ordered the popcorn shrimp plate and a crab claw plate. Both the shrimp and the crab claws tasted strange (maybe they've changed the batter they use), the hush puppies looked and tasted like the breading used to make corn dogs. I'm not sure of the type of sliced bread they gave me, but it looked to be wheat white (it wasn't the color of white bread) or something similar. In any case, it was nasty. They should specify the type of bread that they're going to give you or if they have more than one type, give customers the option to choose. I was soooooo looking forward to having the great food that was from the old Love's yesterday, but what I got was complete disappointment. 10/7/19 I use to love me some Love's Seafood. I have been eating there for over thirty years and the food has always been delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I was disappointed today for the first time in over thirty years of eating at this establishment. I was also told that Love's switched ownership about three or four years ago which I can tell because the menu items and size of portions have changed. The food was very good as always but I didn't like how the portion size has drastically changed smaller. I ordered two pieces of catfish, three shrimp, and three oysters w/fries. The pieces of fish was actually one whole piece of fish cut in half. I felt cheated because it wasn't what I thought I was paying for. I went there today Nov.7,2019 at 1:20 to order oysters, but when I ask the the price because the was faded. The man take my ordered refused to tell me the price and kept telling me it was on the even after I told him it was faded. I just order not knowing what it cost until I got to the window. When I got to the window I told him again the tape was faded and unreadable . he then told me I was blind and if I could not read it I could fix with a marker. I when inside and ask the lady who was the manager and she said the were both managers. While I am talking to the lady, he continued to be rude. I asked for his name, but she wouldn't give to me.
