See Wee Roll is great! At the time I'm writing this I have been twice for the dinner menu and once for the lunch menu. This is an all-you-can-eat sushi place but it's not like the conveyor belt ones in Japan. Here you order small portions off of a menu and you can order as much as you'd like but have to finish everything that you order. Leftovers face extra charges. I like the concept a lot as it reduces waste and potentially stops over-eating.
Their specialty is SUSHI and SEAFOOD. What they specialize in is great. If you go specifically for chicken noodles, you've come to the wrong place. I like to dabble and I've tried the chicken udon and the chicken teriyaki. The chicken was overcooked and a bit dry. And I prefer savory to sweet so I wasn't really a fan of the teriyaki. It was too sweet and there was too much of on dry chicken for my tastes, but you can't please everyone. I don't go into a restaurant expecting to like every last thing they offer. Consumer expectations are moronic sometimes. Don't go to a fish place expecting stellar chicken!
I wasn't a fan of the agedashi tofu (mostly for texture, I like firm tofu) and the crab salad by itself (the portion was too big/it's better as a topping) and the tamago/omelete nigiri (too sweet). The egg rolls and gyoza are so-so. They're not bad by any means but I've certainly had better. As a personal rule of thumb I tend to avoid sushi rolls that have cream cheese in them too. I'm there to taste fish, not cheese. If i want cheese I'll get a bagel or a danish from a bakery.
I really enjoy the vast majority their sushi rolls, nigiri sushi, and shrimp fried rice. I like the seaweed salad and the dinner appetizer Jalapeños. I have not tried any of the soup yet. The green tea and red bean flavored ice creams are quite good too! I prefer the dinner menu because it has slightly more variety and I feel like the dinner time servers were more attentive. I will definitely be a repeat customer.
There is very little I would change if I could. I think it would be amazing if they had a separate drinks and dessert menu not included in the buffet price. I would be willing to pay extra for some hot sake and high quality mochi while I'm there.
Much less important but I would add miniature SAVORY green onion tacoyaki (lightly sauced or sauce on the side) to the appetizers. Or a weekend brunch with savory Hiroshima style okonomiyaki (also lightly sauced).
It probably won't be implemented in the US but Japanese table buttons to call servers over are fantastic in my opinion. It would probably be less overwhelming for staff, as it takes out any guess work as which tables needs assistance. The staff won't be running around like chickens with their heads cut off while trying to please everyone. I don't like the American standard of having food staff check up on me while I'm in the middle of chewing. Buttons would let them know exactly when...
Read moreToday was by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Everything started out fine, we got our appetizer out at a normal speed. The first round was when things started to go wrong. The order consisted of one roll and a few of the individual pieces of sushi and took a bit longer than normal (which is understandable seeing as they just opened back up) and the number of each individual sushi piece was messed up, but I thought it was fine because I was just going to order more after that anyway. When it came to round two, we ordered and then waited. We waited for almost an hour while tables around us who came in after us were getting there orders and even leaving. I decided to order an order of shrimp tempura in hopes that it would come out with the rest of the food. The shrimp tempura came out, but no signs of our sushi order. Then, another 20 minutes passed before our server checked on us again asking if we were still waiting on our sushi. She said she would go and check on it and came back 15 minutes later saying that she checked on it and she didnât know if they lost the order or what was going on and then left. Then, after about 10 or 15 minutes of waiting, she refills our drinks (filled both with water when one was a Sprite). Shortly after, we got our food and we asked to speak to a manager. The server hesitated, seeming like she was going to tell me to go and talk to someone on the other side of the restaurant before she said she would go get the manager. We talked with the manager and explained what was going on when she said they didnât have enough chefs. I asked her why the tables around us (who sat down after us and weâre on their third or fourth round of sushi) and said she was going to talk to the owner and see if the owner wanted to do anything about it. A few minutes later, our server brought us our check and a takeout container and said they were only going to let us take the uneaten sushi home for no charge. It felt like we were being forced out while still hungry and still paying full price for a meal service we werenât...
Read moreMy husband and I tried See Wee Roll for the first time tonight and it was great! The all you can eat menu had a huge selection of sushi, nigiri and specialty sushi rolls as well as soup, salad, appetizers, hibachi and dessert. Our server was Kate and was so sweet and attentive! We felt very welcomed and comfortable. We never had to flag her down once because she came back frequently to check on us and anticipated our every need. She kept our drinks topped off and kept our endless food choices coming out as long as we wanted them. This server knew how to take care of a table and we never had to wait long for anything we ordered. She answered all of our questions and was quite personable. The Avocado Lovers and the Tempura Jalapeno were DELICIOUS! We tried a few of the specialty rolls and appetizers before moving on to our entrees. All of the sushi was fresh, put together artistically and tasted wonderful! My husband had the Chicken Udon noodles and I had the Teriyaki Salmon and shrimp fried hibachi rice. The seasoning was fantastic and our dishes were cooked perfectly. (The salmon portion was thinner than a dinner portion normally is but I'm guessing they are using the salmon sliced for sushi. It was still delicious!) We finished the meal with ice cream. My husband had the green tea and I had the chocolate which tasted a little like kahlua. All in all everything was delicious and the service was top notch! We will be regulars here! Let me also just say that the price per person ($20.95) is phenomenal when you consider how much single order specialty rolls run at similar establishments. The quality of food and service here is unparalleled. You won't find a better value or experience of this kind anywhere...
