I'd like to preface this review by saying I did not have an issue during my visit, so this review is strictly written in good faith. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone I know due to pricing. If, like me, you are trying to find good food for a great price, this isn't it. I'd highly suggest spending the extra time to drive towards Winston for cheaper prices, which is surprising for Mocksville. This place knows it does not have competition for at least 10-15 miles, so it sets its cost very high. It used to not be like this as it was very affordable even during covid. As I gazed the menu, I noticed a standard California roll was nearing the $10 mark - yikes. The portion sizes nor quality hasn't changed over the years, just pricing. As I know this is standard with every other place in the world, I personally can't justify nearly 20$ for a chicken and shrimp combination plate in little Mocksville of all places. Maybe money isn't an important factor to some, but if it is, just keep driving. Service - 4/5 Atmosphere - 2/5 Food -2/5 Value - 1/5 Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope it helps someone down the road. Edit: For reference, the Kimonos in Clemmons (10 miles away) has the same chicken and shrimp combination at $12.99, and it's the same quality and service. Edit 2 (04/25): Just checked back to see more reviews. Seems the owner is on a power trip and likes gaslighting the negative reviews. Doesn't matter much though as this place has killer margins and doesn't need much traffic to stay afloat. Just want to reiterate the Kimono's in Clemmons as they are more affordable.

Incredibly disappointed with the current portion sizes! My family has supported Shiki since the beginning when they were in the old Potmans restaurant building (near Miller's and where Alex's Ice Cream & Grill just vacated). We love the food! The portions used to be generous and filled the entire Styrofoam takeout container -- now, it's very obvious the portions have been cut down significantly. I think they're weighing each plate to ensure you only get the specified reduced amount of food. I can only personally speak for the fried rice/mixed veg/protein of choice entrees, but perusing the other most recent reviews for Shiki will yield a very similar constant: prices have increased dramatically and portion sizes have either shrunk or remained the same. My portion sizes have SHRUNK but the price for a plate has nearly DOUBLED in the last few years! Wild! I know prices have gone up for supplies and wages, but rice, which is the main part of many of the dishes here, has remained relatively cheap -- so why are we paying nearly $14 for rice, a few chicken hunks, and a handful of veggies?? I used to pay $7-8.99 for more food than I get today for a higher price. A few years ago, the prices were affordable and allowed families to eat out comfortably and treat themselves every so often, but no longer. The convenience of a takeout meal is now outweighed by inflation prices, so I'd rather spend my time learning similar recipes and preparing the food myself.

I will said I never come back to this restaurant we when to have lunch and first out order or calamari come whit a big piece of plastic in the food, then the server took our order wrong and they come whit sushi that was not the sushi we order then my son spilled a sauce in the table I ask to the server for napkins he never bring the napkins to the table then I when to the front desk and I ask for napkins and he give me like 1 or 2 napkins and I said I need to clean a spelling sauce in my table and the guy been very rude Said I will clean it later! I was like I am done whit this place. I will not recommend this place to anyone lucky them that’s the only one in Mocksville where they are located.

We found a 4 inch hair in my boyfriends food. After we received our food, he took a bite and pulled a 4 inch hair out of his mouth. My hair is very long (way past my shoulders) and a different color than the hair that we found. My boyfriends hair is about an inch long and also a different color. I asked them to remake him another dish and I would pay for it. The owner refused to remake another dish for my boyfriend because the owner said "This is very bad luck for me" and he also said he couldn't remake a dish because "it waste my money" even after I said that I would pay for it.....so my boyfriend did not get to eat anything!!!! because we told them about the hair in his food. Unbelievable! We repeatedly asked them to cook another dish and we waited 1 hour and didn't receive another dish or an "APOLOGY"! We will NEVER! EVER! go there again! Extremely BAD customer service. The owner asked us not to tell anyone that we found a hair in his food. My boyfriend noticed that the chefs hair was about 4 inches long. I simply can't believe that they did not take "Responsibility" and "Apologize" for the hair in his food and they insulted us by not cooking him another dish!!!!

TO THE OWNERS REPLY:...Please do not insult my intelligence because I am College educated and NO, I DO NOT have the wrong restaurant and NO, I WILL NOT remove my post because you have not apologized or tried to make things right and you are now trying to lie and say I must be stupid and that I've posted a review of a different restaurant (Please)...No, it was YOUR restaurant in Mocksville where my boyfriend and I were regular customers until this happened. As I stated in my review, your chef had hair that looked like it was 4 inches long under a baseball cap. It was insulting and wrong to treat us this way and you refused to cook my boyfriend another meal when we still offered to pay for it after finding a hair in the first meal was absolutely wrong of you. I felt horrible because we left WITHOUT him eating anything! We had to go to another restaurant to get him something to eat! 😭😭😭 Shame on you for treating anyone like...
