El Rosal — Restaurant in Modesto

I ordered dinner for my daughter and myself tonight. She got a taco combo plate, I got a veggie burrito. In the notes, I asked for refried beans instead of whole beans. Rice on the side. Light on the lettuce. Three separate sentences. They sent me a burrito with ONLY lettuce and tomatoes inside of it. With the rice AND beans on the side. When I called them, the lady INSISTED I asked for both on the side. She wouldn’t listen to me. She was rude (barely taking the phone away from her mouth, said, “OMG, this lady!!” EXTREMELY unprofessional!!! Another lady got on the phone with me after I told her OMG yourself, I CAN understand you! The second lady told me to contact door dash for refund since they couldn’t fix the order and send it to me on their own. Went on door dash...they only give a $3 refund. 😡 Tried calling the restaurant back and it just kept ringing (at least a dozen times) to no answer. HORRIBLE customer service! This is the FIRST and LAST time I’ll ever order from this location! I’ve eaten at El Rosal for over a decade and have NEVER had customer service like this. The negative reviews here I'm beginning to think are other restaurant owners with a vendetta. I've gone here for 10+ years to the same location, the waitresses have always been kind and professional and the food has been consistent from as far back as I can remember. Have they gotten the sauce wrong? Yeah, maybe like 3 times in all my years, things happen; that's about as "negative" as my experience gets with El Rosal.

Ironically, one of the ladies reviewing here said she "called in ahead" (probably lying about that) and was late; I've been here once with a family member that was in the exact situation, being in a rush to get back to work, and she asked politely if they could make it quick and surprisingly hers did come out rather quickly. Difference is she asked respectfully and I can only imagine the character of people who leave ranting reviews in all caps.

Second time I've ever used Doordash, ordered from El rosal last night,what is the best chile relleno I've had in years. The Verde sauce with excellent. Only had one issue with the delivery, the chili relleno was placed in a separate container with the green sauce over it, when the delivery person got here the whole order had been placed in a paper bag, the small container with the chili relleno had tipped over and all my green sauce had dumped into the bottom of the paper bag. Thank God I had asked for an extra container of sauce. I don't know if it was a problem with the doordash delivery person not being careful with the bag, but I don't think it would have happened if something with sauce like that had been placed in a different type of container or placed into a separate plastic bag other than that the meal allover itself was excellent and I will...
