Papachinos is one of those special places that feels like home. Located in the heart of downtown Modesto, it’s a family-run Mediterranean restaurant known for its amazing food. From the flavorful chicken brochette to the must-try Holytizers, every dish is made with care. Highly, highly recommend! 📍Papachinos 1212 J St. Modesto, CA ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #mediterranean #mediterraneanfood #supportlocal #localbusinesses #local #explorepage✨ #instagood #foodgram #foodie #foodies #foodreview #review #modestoca #foodiesofcalifornia #california #favorite #yelper #yelp #fyp #fypシ #fypシ゚viral #foodtok #foryoupage #foodiesoftiktok

Excellent food and service! We had the holytizer and spicy shrimp appetizers. The baba ganoush had a ton of flavor and the hummus was equally as tasty, it had a super creamy texture and was definitely made fresh; it came with 2 falafel also. My bf enjoyed the flavors of the shrimp, it had a nice red sauce with a mild flavor. I ordered the artichoke pasta made vegan, which substituted the cream sauce for hummus. It was loaded with freshly cooked veggies including tons of grilled asparagus. You could tell the veggies were good quality (fluffy mushrooms, nothing tasted canned or frozen) and I was very impressed with the portion size. My meal included a choice of salad or a soup (there were 2 soup choices), I chose white bean and it tasted homemade and had nice large chunks of garlic cloves. My bf had shrimp pesto and he said it was excellent as well, it came with a ton of sauce which I think is a plus. He chose the house salad as his side, it had a lot of ingredients, it was not skimpy. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean, the artwork on the walls (murals and paintings) are unique and nice to look at. The theme is very present. The service was great, staff was friendly. There was only one chef cooking from what I could tell and she did a wonderful job keeping everything coming up hot and quickly, despite them being pretty busy with to go orders. We will definitely make this one of our date spots from now on. There is wine and beer as well. All of the food was impressive, well portioned, and priced well.

DON"T go on a Saturday!! They aren't expecting you. They were out of Moussaka, a traditional dish and another item we wanted. There was two sticks of incense burning at the entrance which interfered with the taste of the food. We came at 1:00 PM, lunch time and were told we would have to wait a little while for service because "The Law requires us to take a break when we work 10 hours." Customers who came in after us and ordered after us got their food first. (It wasn't a salad or other uncooked dishes.) The workers made the place looked like it was closed but the sign said open so we went in.

I got takeout here, as we were just passing through. The atmosphere seemed warm and inviting, though, and the woman who greeted me was friendly and helpful. On the phone, I was quoted 10 minutes for my food to be ready, but when I arrived 6 minutes later, it was ready to go! Even the server was surprised. The woman working in the kitchen did a wonderful job, both with quality and quick timing. I got a veggie plate and loved it, and my partner greatly enjoyed his chicken sandwich (wrap?)! I chose a side salad, which was delightful! He got fries, which were not amazing, but decent (I would give them 4/7). Then again, fries are not the main event here. The food was tasty and filling, service was impeccable, and though I ordered to go, the atmosphere was very comfortable. What more could...

I've been here many times and the food and service never fail! When it's lunch time, it's understandable that it's busy, but it's so odd to hear people demand and rush for their food to be made when clearly there isn't a FastPass for your order to get to the front of the line. Go to McD's if you want your food ready in less than 5 minutes, I promise you this food is worth the wait lol The waitresses are very nice and the food is full of flavor and I LOVE that their sauces are made in-house and that they marinate their own meat! Everything tastes so fresh. Love that they also have homemade goodies during the holidays and the laid-back "artsy" vibe on Art Walk Thursday! If anybody were to pass through, they surely will not be...
