I don't often get to go out with my wife, so when I do, I want it to be someplace special. Good food, or good drink. Something we're going to remember fondly. Because of that, I am so glad I took the advice of my coworker to try this place!
First off, when you get in, the staff is friendly. We were seated promptly and with many smiles. They got us some bread and water, and we were off!
First, the bread. Dude, it was HEAVENLY! White, soft, steaming. It was amazing. Crispy on the outside, soft and piping hot on the inside. This puts a certain Italianish chain's breadsticks to shame. It was excellent. The standard olive oil, balsamic, and garlic dipping bowl wasn't needed, but gave an additional tangy depth to the flavor.
We started with the grilled polenta, and it was GREAT! The white wine and cream sauce was superb, and the mushrooms were incredible. We got the Gorgonzola on the side, as my wife doesn't like it, but I thought it was an amazing addition. It was a mild Gorgonzola, and the creaminess was a fantastic addition.
I had the Penne Paisan. The italian sausage had wonderful flavor, and the creamy marinara was lightly sweet, and absolutely incredible. Seriously, I didn't know what to expect with Pastas Pronto, but I definitely did not expect food of this caliber. It deserves to be lauded, and I certainly wish I'd heard about it before now! My wife got the Pollo Jerusalem, and the wine cream sauce was rich and hearty. She appreciated the vegetables as the dish almost certainly would have been too rich for her, otherwise.
The ONLY complaint I could possibly make was that the food seemed to take a little while to get there, but they had one main cook and 2 families ahead of us. Not out of the ordinary, and it was definitely worth waiting for. Additionally, for two of us with a big appetizer, we got out of there for around $50. No drinks. Wasn't bad at all.
Seriously, this place deserves to be more well known. Let everyone you know hear about it. Go eat there and experience...
Read moreGreat food they have fresh baked bread with a oil and vinegar dipping sauce that is in a word, amazing. No joke I've gone there a coupe of times just to get a couple orders of bread and oil to go its allways hot (almost too hot) and delicious. The one big complaint I have about this place is the portions, the food overall is actually pretty good but these portions seem unusually small. I got an order of ravioli not too long ago and there where 4 total pieces of pasta on my plate not even particularly big ones either. Got an order of spagettie just the other night and i finished it in about 9 medium sized bites. For the price you pay per plate (average of 12-17 bucks) this is just sad. And if it wernt for this one rather large drawback I would probably rate pastas...
Read moreSmall venue but cute and the service was pretty good. Had chicken and pasta with alfredo sauce. It was decent. The breading could have been better but not to bad. My mother and daughter we're also with me and they had a plate of spaghetti and meatballs and a cheese pizza respectively. The spaghetti was ok, meatballs could REALLY benefit from some seasoning. But the pizza! Oh my God the pizza! That was definitely a reason to go back. Can't recommend that pizza enough. Honestly the reason it's getting 4 stars is because they were out of what my mom really wanted and that was butternut squash raviolis. Nice little place though,...
