This place has been here for many years, however, has been re-opened (a year ago from what I was told), after the original establishment closed. On my visit this evening, I had a good time. The drinks were made to my satisfaction. The bartenders were polite, attentive, overall friendly. Pricing was fair and in line with this type of establishment. I liked that attention was paid to cleanliness as they had someone washing dishes and wiping tables/counters. This is a something that is routinely overlooked in bars/pubs/night clubs, and one that is important, not to be overlooked, as its fundamental in lessening the spread of contagious illnesses. Not to mention, it feels a lot more comfortable to be in a sanitary environment while enjoying your favorite beer or cocktail. That in turn, keeps customers coming back. After all, this isn't the old west where you walk in and the bartender is literally spit polishing shot glasses. 🤢 So keep up the great management and thank you for the hospitality. I will happily visit again and recommend your establishment.
I gave no review of food as I didn't have any and don't know if food is made and served here. I was there, strictly on a mission of *anti-sobrietal and philosophical enlightenment through social verbal interaction with like-minded individuals, particularly of the female genre. *Getting drunk, B.S.-ing with the guys, and flirting with beautiful women [who get more beautiful with each shot]. 😅 Over all a good place to stop in for a casual drink.
This is an [too] honest review and accurate as to my personal experience, as all my reviews represent, for the assistance to fellow patrons...
Read moreWe dined at The Standard Pub for our daughter’s 16th birthday dinner. She wanted to try it and we were so happy! We will definitely return.
Here’s what we loved: Food was delicious! Because it’s a “pub” we weren’t expecting the food to be so good. Nothing was over cooked nor underdone. Prime rib dip was fantastic and the prime rib chili was out of this world! Mild spice and lots of flavor. Every plate was completely clean at the end of the meal. Staff and service were great. We didn’t have to ask for refills or for service. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and very prompt. Clean dining area and restrooms. It’s surprising how many places seem dingy these days but this place was spic-and-span. Plenty of bar space over in the “bar” area. We look forward to returning to enjoy that area with friends!
Things we would change if we could: hard surfaces everywhere = really loud environment. It is a pub, we get that, but starting just before 7 (on a Sunday) the music volume was turned up and it became very difficult to have a conversation in the dining portion of the space. We attempted to come for dinner a few months ago but it was so loud we could hardly even hear ourselves talking to the hostess so we left to find a better fit for the purpose of our dinner - to talk. lots of dark surfaces seemed to tamp down a good dining atmosphere. I assume these colors work best for the late...
Read moreAwesome spot here in Modesto, We have been to this place several times now and love it here. The Menu ( though not large) has some really great pub food which is delicious, the braised pork osso bucco is amazing, literally fall off the bone tender and tasty and the prime Harris ranch ribeye was cooked to perfection, they really know how to cook a steak. We have had several of their menu items and have loved everything we’ve ordered. The restaurant is split into two sides by a wrap around bar in the middle which boasts some very nice top shelf liquors, amazing tequilas, 16 taps and many bottled beers. One side of the restaurant is more cozy and upscale for nice romantic dinner but has large enough tables for groups and families, the other side is more of a pub type atmosphere with several large screen televisions and is one of the best places in town to watch sports. Absolutely love this place and will be going often, definitely...
