Dry Creek is a unique trailhead with the Stanislaus River running through it. There is plenty of gorgeous grassland that is open to the public and a scattering of trees. Trails zig zag across the landscape with lots of bike and walking paths. There is also a park near the entrance to the trail (East La Loma Park) that is great for the kiddos. The problem I have is the trash. The space, while expansive, is heavy on litter. This is especially bad at the river itself. If it was cleaner it would be an absolutely wonderful place.

This has always been a place for me to feel like I’m not in town.. It’s a breath of fresh air. Everyone that comes here are from different backgrounds, yet we all know that the creek is a safe space for everyone to just be. To escape the day to day noise and to have a moment to yourself on a bench in a quick corner of the world. Bikers, joggers, dog walkers, marathoners, strollers, skaters, walk n talkers… We’re all here and respect the balance.

Visited this trail for the first time and took my inline skates out. It was a lovely ride, not too busy but plenty of people out. Lots of good shade spots to enjoy and beautiful scenery for being in the middle of town. Definitely going to be back to skate here more!

It's a great trail for bike riding, skate boarding, jogging, etc. Stick to the right side of the paved path. There are some homeless who pass through here but have never had issues when coming across them. There are no lights at night and highly recommend going during day light hours. Quite sunny, come prepared with hats, use sunscreen etc, there is shade dispersed randomly through the trail. Only issue and warning is people allowing dogs to run off leash. I've come across trail goers whose dogs are very well trained and are easily called back to attention by owners and off they on their way. During a walk we unfortunately had come across a Karen whose unleashed dog wanted to mount my leashed dog and got mad because my dog "didn't know how to play" as my dog rightfully barked and defend himself. There are signs to have your dog on a leash within the park, if your dog isn't well trained then take the measures as a responsible sensible dog owner and use a leash. There are trash bins which are a great convenience for dog poop bag waste. There is one water fountain (landmark -the golf course office). Though I highly recommend...

I live right across the street from the dry Creek. And I know some of the homeless down by the creek. The city goes down to we're these homeless people live and if they get caught sleeping there they get cited and they have to go to court. And if they happen to leave there stuff alone the city will gather up everything that they own and dump it. Some of them can't help it and the other half choose to live like that. I have given so much blankets and chlothes to the homeless community. I think that unless they Are out committing some sort of faloney they shouldn't have to deal with the cities...

I love walking this trail because there's always a cool breeze, tons of tall, shady trees for relief from the sun & everyone's friendly! The ONLY negative is a group called The Goonies that ride in a group of 25-30 kids in age from 13-30. They're respectful when the adults show up, but are vulgar, disrespectful & threatening yo anyone not in their group. I asked the kids if they could move their friends bike out of the middle of the street & I got called a bunch of names & told to "get the eff on & find another park!" I should be able to get some exercise, without feeling like my car is gonna...
